carbonboy Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 what front strip? you mean my budget lip? hehe. oh yeah the ae82oc sticker 'fell' there The strip of chrome on the front bumper, just breaks up all the black IMHO. Budget lip FTW. :) The suspension and brakes off the donor car will be sold. GTI superstrut setup. But if you want new stuff? Bazda's coilovers are cheaper than buy the sealed struts, springs and sway bars from Peders. Also I can't recommend the sv21 caliper and ae92 GTI rotor combo!! Webers4x48's seca stops on a 5c piece now. Serious? Sort of regretting not going this brake setup myself, easier & somewhat cheaper to get bits for than the AE101 / ST185 combination. Then again, if either of those don't work well enough for you, bazda also sells Wilwood front setups for about $1k. Forehead-into-steering-wheel action guaranteed. :D am getting a set of coils from bazda when my tax comes back. i have a whiteline adj rear swaybar and a stock twink front swaybar already installed. need to f**k off the poo brown door trims asap! +1 all of the above! :y: Quote
azza91 Posted July 6, 2012 Author Report Posted July 6, 2012 what is needed for the sv21 caliper/ae92 gti combo? any mods or bolt up? Quote
kickn5k Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 what is needed for the sv21 caliper/ae92 gti combo? any mods or bolt up? Just fold the backing plate back to clear the bigger disk. I'll measure webers disk dia this weekend as there were a couple of different ones from memory. But yeah pretty much bolt up and dirt cheap. Quote
Subaru_kid Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) Bazda also sells Wilwood front setups for about $1k. Forehead-into-steering-wheel action guaranteed. :D Some say that if you have a 5 point harness and a Wilwood BBK you will not be able to have kids... Also Stuart, could you elaborate on that GTi Super strut setup? AFAIK Super struts only came in AE101 and AE111 Levin/Trueno Coupes (in the corolla family atleast) Edited July 7, 2012 by Subaru_kid Quote

Yes the superstrut arr the later model ones, just had a brain fade!! Quote
azza91 Posted July 8, 2012 Author Report Posted July 8, 2012 did you manage to measure up those rotors champ? Quote
kickn5k Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) did you manage to measure up those rotors champ? Yep sure did!! They are 258mm dia and were stamped 22mm(thickness) which makes them the AE-92 GTI hatch. The brake upgrade threads on other forums also say the the AE-9x SX seca had the same disk but the hatch had the smaller disks. Edited July 8, 2012 by kickn5k Quote
Subaru_kid Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 GTi and Seca S2 both have the same brakes. S1 Seca and hatch SXs have the same (smaller) brakes. Quote

carbonboy Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Some say that if you have a 5 point harness and a Wilwood BBK you will not be able to have kids... Just get a 4 point then. :P Reproducing isn't on my agenda so this doesn't worry me at all. :D Quote
