chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Hey guys, so in November I purchased this 1983 Ke70, purchase title "the Steezy Little Keto" Purchase Date: November 6, 2011. Location: Brisbane. Condition: Stripped, rusty, dented, just bad overall. Price Paid: Ripped off!! $1800 in the condition shown in photos - I suppose I'm the idiot who payed it though. Engine: Stock 4k, 5 speed manual. Goods: Came on a Pair of dragways, and a Pair of BBS meshes, had a Tacho already, non locking handbrake, had a rear visor. Bads: Pretty much the entire car. Nice sticker on the back window? I got the car home excited as shit and straight away took it out into my local streets and had a blast, once returning home I gave the car a clean out, vacuum and spray and wipe down, washed the car and cleaned the windows... chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Then came the idea to make write down some ideas.. Later that week I had completely cleaned out the car, picked up a few pairs of sctockies, and through a set straight on the car. I managed to drive down to Munchies Car Meet in Brisbane on the 11th of November, I picked up a pair of Monza Buckets for $250 without rails, after getting them home and realizing that the ke70 stock rails fit the Monza's I put them in. The next Monday I picked up some the two piece rear seat and took it straight into the local upholsterer and had them done in black leather - with a 5 year warranty on the material. They turned out f*cking sick! Edited July 9, 2013 by chrisfindlay Quote
chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Picked up some more stockies during the next week. Went round to my good old mate Rocky's to get some work done and to collect some parts. Ended up installing a Chrome front bumper, collecting a rear, and installing four new doors as they were in way better condition, and my original driver side door was missing the complete window mechanism and window. (Doors came of Biggo's old shell) Due to the bumper not fitting Rocky and I ended up having to fabricate custom brackets cutting the original ke70 front bumper brackets, and cutting brackets that came with this chrome bumper, and welding them together so that this bumper would fit the keto.. The finished product also featuring the new grill. Edited January 3, 2012 by chrisfindlay Quote
chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 This is Biggo's old shell, now featuring my old doors :y: This thing would have been cool back in its day.. And this is the car now featuring Kermit green doors and chrome bumper  After a week or two my interior carpet arrived, and I had picked up a back shelf and had it upholstered with black carpet. I sprayed all my plastics black, just scruffed them up with a scotch brite pad, and gave them a super clean, and then about 20 coats of gloss black spray, lightest coats ever though.. The before and after shots :y: Quote
chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Removed the Mirror as a purchased a new chrome one, looks like its been there a while hey? I got a working Sony Xplod sub of a mate, the sub itself was in good condition but the box housing wasnt and it also didnt fit in the boot of the keto, so on a trip past my local wreckers I picked up the new grey carpeted one for $20 Win! Sprayed the rest of the dash and other various parts. My new clear corner lights arrived $30 posted from EGAY.. New Jvc Head unit arrived, and picked up two sets of 4x6 Fusion speakers, they came with a one year unlimited warranty, so when they blow (Their Fusions, they will!) I can have them replaced free, so that sounded like an alright deal to me.. New MOMO Steering wheel arrived - FROTHING OUT! And then the steering wheel was followed by a soon arriving Sparco snap off Boss kit. Now thats the sex ^^ Ordered brand new tail lights, window wipers, bonnet mount chrome peeper mirrors. Waiting for the upholstery shop to open back up from new years/Christmas holidays so I can get the Monzas re-covered in black vinyl. Picked up an Oil Temp gauge and a matching Water temp, installed them where the am/fm radio used to sit - Looks fresh! Now I just have to sell my pair of Dragway's and my BBS Meshies, fresh tyres and all.. So that I can buy these bad boys!! NOW TO PLAY THE WAITING GAME! Edited January 3, 2012 by chrisfindlay Quote
chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) After finding out the police had been scouting my local area looking for my car due to me always driving it without roadworthy or rego, from my property to a friends so that we can work on it, and seeing a sticker on an american Silvia in a video, I decided to call my Corolla "JAILBAIT" so I purchased a sticker :y: I also decided to get rid of the harnesses as it would have been so much effort to mod plate them etc, not worth the time.. chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) After some rare luck yesterday, my attention was drawn to the infamous Ke70 "Cop Bait" and the fact it was for sale.. Just the name of this car made me grin! So on impulse I gave Reed a rang and picked her up at 10am, good way to start the new year I thought, at the amazing price of $420 and the $80 car trailer hire fee.. I was so severely happy when I got it home, I could not believe that I had picked this up for such a low price when I payed $1800 for my first Ke70 in extremely worse condition. Heres how I got her.. Some pics from when I got "Cop Bait" home.. Edited January 1, 2012 by chrisfindlay Quote
chrisfindlay Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 Engine Bay comparison, I think you can whats better.. Left picture: "Cop Bait" Right picture: "Jail Bait" So starting Monday the idea is to take all the good parts and stuff from "Jail Bait" and put them into "Cop Bait' and build one fresh Rolla, get it all looking and running premium and then get her on the road, and then ill just get Jail bait painted and stock spec ready for roady and to be sold.. Need mullah so I can get some coil overs, new struts, adjustable pan rod, sway bars, and hopefully a 3RZ or a 3SGE engine in there some where.. Ill keep this up to date as it comes along :) Quote
