The Steezy Ke70

Didnt get any work done today apart from cutting a rubber mat to fit into the section of the boot where the spare tyre sits..

All I had to do for this was turn the rubber mat upside down, trace my spare tyre with a coloured paint pen in this case a lovely Homosexual shade of Pink(So you can see the circle on the black) then I just followed the circle with my stanley knife and wallah! Done, all that I had to do was clean both sides of the mat, and place it in the boot right way up!

I did this just to make my boot look a bit neater, and to stop my tyre from rubbing the paint off the bottom section of the spare tyre area..

Some pictures of the process.

Ive been so busy lately due to work, havent had time to update this beautiful thread of mine ;) Although I haven't got that much done recently..

My brand new lights and window wipers arrived about two weeks ago, thanks to ebay... Only took a month and a half for them to get here..

post-14737-0-94709800-1326628562_thumb.jpg post-14737-0-45282700-1326628640_thumb.jpg

So last week I decided that I wanted a nice floor in my boot, so I began building one, and came up with this bad boy..

Started by taking some random paper from the old mans office, figured he must not use it as there was thousands of sheets of the shit!

post-14737-0-35215200-1326628274_thumb.jpg

Then I placed that onto my sheet of ply that I was originally going to make door cards out of and then moved onto cutting the floor out.

So I soon realized that attempting to put the floor in the boot was just far to difficult, I decided to cut the floor in half, once getting it in the boot I just couldn't get it to fit properly so after trimming parts of the floor I finally popped it into the boot and bam, she fits!

post-14737-0-97154000-1326628695_thumb.jpg

Then I picked up 2sqm of black carpet from my local foam and rubber store and began to trace the floor out onto the back, remembering to trace the lines about an inch to wide for the floor so I could glue the ply onto the carpet neatly.

After some thinking, I decided that using glue to stick the carpet onto the ply would be stupid as heat would cause the glue to expand and contract, eventually allowing the carpet to come loose, instead I decided to purchase a staple gun and this is the finished product of one side the floor post-14737-0-67555300-1326629313_thumb.jpg

I also carpeted the wooden backing that sits behind the rear seats, so now when you look in the boot all you can see is carpety goodness

Oh and today I began making my door cards today out of aluminum checker plate, about an hour of angle grinding these, and about 4 1/2 hours of ringing ears they were done (with exception of the non cut out door handle holes and window winders.)

So yesterday I trekked down to Brisbane and picked up a full set of 15x10" 0 Offset wheels for $500 with Tyres - Pretty stoked with them.

And on the way back I also picked up a Twin cam 4age 16v Small Port - Which is in good condition out of an ae82.

Not bad hey?

Now I just need to find a T.Series Diff, a T50 Gearbox, Wiring loom, ae71 Pedal box and slave, ae71 Cross member Rack, Water pump, oil pump, aluminum radiator and Radiator Hose's, Surge Tank, Fly wheel, Extractors, Clutch and Engine Mounts..

SO MUCH STUFF TO GET!! Going to be an Expensive Conversion... :'(

Here's how the wheels look on Cop Bait - Need to flair the guards a fair bit more, and remove the Mercedes hub caps, that have been pop riveted on..

Decided to install my Mirrors, and cable tie my front bumpers on just to see what she looks like.. Shes almost ready for paint (Y) Just got to sand her all back, and fix some little rust spots, and a few little dents here and there, use some yummy body filler, spray her with rust protection and BAM! Paint time...

Oh my bolt on guards are on their way aswell.. And I'm finally ordering my Quad lights tonight!!

Heres what she looks like with the mirrors and bumpers etc..

These two photos don't do her much justice :(

Late thisavo my bolt on guards arrived, I'm so happy, means that ill be able to run the 15x10s without having to flair the shit out of my guards.. Now just to paint them black and bolt them on..

After finishing work tonight I cracked into some work on Cop Bait, began spraying my roof lining as it was a tan colour, got the whole first coat done, and then I ran out of spray, so tomorrow I'm off to Auto Pro to grab a second can so I can finish the job..

Here's a picture of when I started.

post-14737-0-41658200-1327329719_thumb.jpg

After that I decided it was time to install my Sub and amp (located in my boot) properly, so I pushed the sub into the very left corner of my boot, and right against the back wall, then I screwed it into the floor that I made so it is properly secured, then I measured out the gap from the right hand edge of the Sub, to the right hand side of my boot, and then made the measurements of the hight (14cm) and width..

Here is what I came up with (Looks like a heavy peice of shit, but its firm and stable).

post-14737-0-12716500-1327330115_thumb.jpg post-14737-0-88357400-1327330143_thumb.jpg

Then I cracked out the carpet out and covered it nicely, looks pretty sweet.

post-14737-0-98885900-1327330251_thumb.jpg

Then marked out where the amp was going to sit and bolted her in. Drilled some wires and re-ran the wires through the base of the shelf.. and ran the wires out through the rear wall and behind the seat (So no ugly f*cking wires can be seen)..

I think I did an alright job..

Hopefully tomorrow night I can install my carpet and seats, finish spraying the roof liner, install my bolt on guards and install my door cards..

Looking good, can't wait to see the flares bolted on, I'm planning on getting then for my Ke70 too. Are u going to cut the metal guards off or just bolt on them over the top? Did u get the flares from topstage?

Nah I picked mine up from a guy on the net somewhere, they are full fiberglass, got a little bit ripped $270 posted from brizvegas..

Not sure how I'm going to fit them as of yet, as they werent built for a Keto, they fit pretty well except for the bottom area of the car (where theres the indent at the rear and front of the car - Where the sides of your bumpers sit.. Might have to jig something up to fill the gap.. As of cutting the guard - I don't think ill cut it out completely, maybe perhaps just make them alot bigger, so that there is minimal guard left and only enough to put the bolts in.. Probably save about 5kg haha.. Not that weight bothers me.
