Rpm Issues

Alright guys......I just recently bought an 1981 liftback the only problem I'm having is the carbs...!!! The brand is mikuni some after market brand I tried looking it up an all I got was motorcycle carbs..... Weird!!! , so the problem I'm having is the rpm idle is at 3 thousand RPM I tried messing with some of the throttle cable,fuel pressure regulator, an even the distributor cap but nothing is turning the idle down....But on the carbs there's like 12 adjustments on it an I tried everything so please guys your my last resort!!!!!!

So it has quad throttle bodies? What engine?

 

Put up some pics. And narrow down what kind of car it is.

TE72....engine 3tc 1.8 but has been bore out so now it's 2.0!!!!!! And I don't know how to put up pics?

They are mikuni solex carbs mate. Parts for those are getting a little scarce. "wolf creek racing" in the US still stock rebuild kits and plenty of spares too.

You'll find a idle speed adjuster screw on the side of the carbs were the linkages bolt to the throttle shafts. But if extensive mods have been done to the engine since it was last running I'd send it off for a proper dyno tune.

@kickn5n I tried already it seems like it's max out already an also I was messing with some of the screws an even the trottle cables? Any other advice?

Where are you? There is a good workshop in Moorrabin Victoria that does dyno work on Solexes.

@silverra thanks for that website it help alot still having some issues but altleast I got the rpm problem down.but I stay at Columbus Georgia am theres a couple dyno places down here I know about....
