Yeah, those button clutches are horrid - and extremely expensive. The MR2 will have traction out of the handbrake turns, so it has advantages. The hard bit is getting the backside to swing out the way you want it to. You should definitely try to come as the extra driving practice is always good.

I'd like to make it down, with new clutch + locker in the pig. But my parents seem to think that year 12 takes priority over cars? wtf!

That's why we're having it the week after school holidays. If you've got any school work to catch up on, you can do it in the holidays, and then the weekend after the holidays, you can come on the motorkhana. Don't worry about the locked diff. Sure it'd be cool, but single spinners can be fun-ish.

Already got a locked centre in Lenny's car, and hopefully by then that'll be what I'm driving... But will only have it in for the event if I am using that car. Lockers on the street are f@$ken queer!

yeah cost daniel $1600 fitted!! Had a bit of a play on dirt handles like a fwd but hangs out fairly well. Getting used to it now. Its kool!!!

While I'm at it, I may as well have a drive too. I've only ever driven a naturally aspirated AW11, plus I'm interested in seeing what a 4A-GZE feels like when it's running right.

Wouldn't really know to be honest. At a guess, I'd probably say low to mid 15's.

that sounds about right to me... tho i can't see a MR2 being easy to launch.

With most of the weight over the rear wheels, I'd say dial up about 5,000-5,500rpm and drop the clutch. You'll be around you torque peak which will give max acceleration, and if you get too much wheelspin, just try again with less rpm next time.
