I'm just wondering was I can get some clean metal stock for some fabricating bits around my car, I would normally just nick some bars from school in tech but don't do it any more :P any ideas around Brisbane. about 30mm X 3-4mm 1-2 meters

my dad a teacher and he just gets the old desks school doesnt want any more and cuts them up. the metal is quality.

Just got images of him running into class on a school day, pushing some kids stuff off the desk and running off with the desks lol, oh well. Back to reality for me.

I have found that some of the smaller scrap metal merchants/recyclers put aside some of the good stuff that they come across.

 

I scored a big sheet of 5mm thick aluminium for double the scrap price, normally would have cost

10 or 20 times that.
