novanoob Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Hey guys, Just picked up a 1991 Holden Nova hatch, i.e. an AE92 Corolla (I think?!). The piece of wood covering the spare wheel is pretty much useless as it's so old and broken... it's not complete either so trying to copy it is too hard. Does anyone know where I could find a template for the wooden cover so that I could make my own out of mdf? Thanks a lot! Quote
ke70dave Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) ermmm....zero chance i would say. Just use yours as a template and guess the bits that are missing. Or find some cardboard and make your own template. also i'd suggest against MDF. any moisture on mdf and it balloons up and goes all fuzzy. Perhaps look at some marine ply wood. Also, Welcome to rollaclub! don't be afraid to start a members ride of your beast and throw up some pics of your progress. Edited February 18, 2013 by ke70dave Quote
novanoob Posted February 18, 2013 Author Report Posted February 18, 2013 Cheers for the quick reply! I guess I was hoping that there was a service manual somewhere which had a picture of the cover or something similar... Cardboard is a good idea, I will do that! Thanks for the suggestion on the marine plywood, I'll have a look at Bunnings tonight. Quote
timbo Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 Can do, I am about to make one from my girlfriends KE70. The only hard part is making the little metal clip that holds it in place, which is easy! Quote
novanoob Posted February 19, 2013 Author Report Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks man! I don't know if it'll work going from the KE70 into the AE92 though?? Quote
timbo Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 What shaped are you talking about? Quote
