nerfbat Posted July 6, 2013 Author Report Posted July 6, 2013 raced down to BpChaly and his Bro's house(2 of the nicest guys ive ever met..!), cash in hand and i swear i must have looked like a junky, feening for a fix, haha. I'm surprised they kept straight faces... picked their brain, did the deal, also buying some other parts(qill show them later), shook hands and raced home at like 5,000 Km/H, so i could sneak in a run at home, before sunset Scotty rings me to see how I'm going down there, and i say "Yep, will be home by 2" to which he replies, "Great, got a few guys keen for a ride" WOOOT!!!! got to Scotty's, to see his secksee Monkey, laying in wait. then the familiar rumble of another Monkey, followed by a Dax. we all head off together for a sweet cruise to air out the cobwebs of the Chaly and get a feel for her what a good feeling to not be riding solo, and literally laughing my arse off, everytime i sat on the Chaly..! now, it is also a great feeling, when you are riding a well built ride, and this shows the work Brent and his Bro are capable of. would not hesitate in recommending them for anything 'Asian', to be honest, I'm sure they could 'hook ya up' lol love your work, guys /salute the only small downside if you could call it that, was i am slower than the other guys by a fair way, on my 85cc... may look into a 140cc or bigger, keeping this engine safe in the shed and pics incoming Quote

nerfbat Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 so, been working in the lab on some new stuff like lol, but seriously, lots been happening to this girl will update in the next day or so Quote
nerfbat Posted September 7, 2013 Author Report Posted September 7, 2013 so, its been a while, and i have to go back a ways to get the whole story. Here goes: 7th July 2013 07:31 PM "had a callout for work today. so i took the Chaly for a cruise to the Bowling alley. a couple things i noticed, that needed to be looked at asap. the engine has a miss, and i think its electrical. the headlight rattled loose and was lucky it was held by the wiring. I'm sure i heard/felt something metallic fall to the road, couldnt find anything after a brief search also lost all electrics, indicators, etc. pretty sure the lights havent worked at all, gotta trace the wiring and see whats up more than likely a bad earth, or a connection worked loose? still able to get her home after work. will get into her over the next few days whatever is wrong, its small, I'm sure once thats sorted, RWC and get her into my name" i spent 3 weeks, tracing wires, following near illegible thai, then chinese wiring diagrams(only links i could find at the time, being huge in Thailand) 25th July 2013 08:40 PM so, since i couldnt fix her, i immediately took her to a master, with a long history racing them Benz Racing, is his business, but most of you would know Benno from Independent. he is fixing her up in his spare time, and doing a great job..! apologies for the poor pic quality, but they are from txts directly from him battery is toast, due to a wiring issue while sorting out the wiring, removed the front end to prepare for the disc brake conversion more to come Quote
nerfbat Posted September 7, 2013 Author Report Posted September 7, 2013 felt i better show some of his work in the process of being restoed Quote
nerfbat Posted September 7, 2013 Author Report Posted September 7, 2013 she is really taking shape Ben has out done himself had to weld lugs to the forks to mount the mud guard Quote
nerfbat Posted September 7, 2013 Author Report Posted September 7, 2013 disc brake front end fitted. new hub and forks match painted now to sort out the wiring issue/s can not wait..! Ben you are the man(probably wont see this thread tho) love your work secksee work..! Quote
nerfbat Posted September 7, 2013 Author Report Posted September 7, 2013 test fitting of the eye lid, we decided we didnt like it went back to without it originally had hopes for the cooler to sit where the horn was, so we relocated that, to prepare for the move. but to restrict the chance of anything getting caught in the movement of the front end during turns, etc, we decided not to below is what we agreed on making holes for the oil filter to get some air flow, in its new spot inside the leg guard, as it looked wrong anywhere else really happy with how it came out Benno painted the filter cover black. i reckon it looks a lot better than before Quote
nerfbat Posted September 7, 2013 Author Report Posted September 7, 2013 the 'china' front end was way too low, even with just the weight of the bike, using up 50% of the front end travel. then add the weight of a rider, or a fatty like me, it would be nearly sitting hard. it's also different internally, so the original front end parts can't be swapped in, so Ben sourced some with the same dimensions from his shop, and cut them to suit now to my sads.... wiring has been sorted, new battery fitted also, as the other one was fried due to W/E was wrong with the wiring. Benno spent ages sorting it out. but still couldnt isolate the miss in the engine. so he gave her a full tune and service. the valve clearances were out. sorted that. full rebuild and tune on the carb, it changed the miss, but its still there under load he is going to check the coil next I can not say enough about Benny..! he treats this bike, and the others he works on, like his own...! in fact, he is putting more effort into this girl than i would have.. i may have given up and put her in the 'too hard basket' a while ago Props..!
