GJM85
Fitted these seats today but they obstruct the seat belts. The belt won't retract while its like this. Any ideas on how to get around it?
oldie
Adjust your seating position or change the seats again seems the only answer to me! That is of course unless you can change the mounting point to higher up the pillar where there is more clearance.
styler
Mount a drop link extension further up on the pillar.
GJM85
Mount a drop link extension further up on the pillar. How can I go about this? There are no holes and I'm unsure if its possible to drill and tap higher up on the pillar.
GJM85
I rectumfied the issue by moving the seats back 3 inches on the adapter plates I made. I'm 6'1" so I need the leg room. See the paint flaking in that photo? That's why you don't take your car to MSR Customs. They can't even take the time to sand back the door frames before painting. B.L.Z.BUB
Put spacers under the seat belt side of the seat between the seat and rails so they lean towards the center slightly. GJM85
That not such a bad idea actually. That might give me the clearance to make these seats certifiable. Problem being, although the seat belt retracts while I'm in it. Once I get out they don't and dangle out the door frame. According to what I saw on ACA the other night, that's just down right DANGEROUS!
B.L.Z.BUB
Or put harnesses in.
CREEDY
Have you still got the original seats? they looked like they were retrimmed?
GJM85
Yeah they've been retrimmed but are pretty shot. The driver seat back rest is starting to bend and they have no support what so ever.
