FasterRolla Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 Is it possible to merge a 1970 Sprinter with a Honda S2000 drivetrain ? ... I guess the main question is, how difficult would it be ? Could the S2000 engine fit in the Sprinter engine compartment ? - without firewall or core support modifications ? Quote
Mechanical Sympathy Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 Have you done an engine conversion previously? Yes it's possible. Though it is likely difficult, expensive, time consuming and will require significant modifications to the car including - but not limited to - firewall and transmission tunnel, crossmembers and mounts, cooling, brakes, steering, suspension, differential, speedometer, wiring, fuel system. A search within Rollaclub may reveal that others have undertaken this conversion, at least on later models anyway. And please don't do it to a Sprinter. Quote
ke70dave Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 This guy is putting a f22c into a ke30. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/51905-daisy-the-ke30-vtec-f20c/ Perhaps read that and then imagnie trying to do the same thing in a car that is maybe 10-15% smaller again. With the prices of f22c's on their own, and the cost of doing the conversion as well as having the brakes and suspension to keep up, you are prolly better off with a honda s2000.....they can be had for under $20k these days. and if you do the conversion properly i doubt you will do it for much less by the time you are finished. But hey, if money is no object, id have an F22c in a1970 sprinter too! Quote
