Fore Skin Posted March 29, 2006 Author Report Posted March 29, 2006 Depends what engine you are putting it on. Welcome aboard Its a KE70 I'm going to put it on. motor is still stock i think it should go alright i hope?!!! :P Quote
Fore Skin Posted March 29, 2006 Author Report Posted March 29, 2006 Yeah should go OK on a 4K I had a 32/36 on a worked 4K and it was just a tad too big, you get the best of both worlds with a 28/36 You'll get nice low end response along with the high end flow that these carbs give :P Make sure you try and find a carby kit and give it a quick rebuild, you'll be going like a shower of shit in no time. Highly suggest a 25/65 cam with that carb and a 1.75" ~ 2.0" exhaust system. Best of luck Hey thanks for the info i will be getting that cam you said i think it would be worth it! + going to take most of the day to put it on like altering the accel cable to fit etc had hell of a time to find a air filter assembly for it but finally found 1! :) Quote
Fore Skin Posted April 3, 2006 Author Report Posted April 3, 2006 Hope you didn't use one of those foam filters? They dry out and get sucked into the engine as they fall apart. Highly suggest using a redline type air filter Umm sorta got a Ram-Flo filter i gues i could get a oiling kit to oil the foam the damn thing cost me $72 inc freight redline has stoped making the rectangular air filter assembly for DCD weber very hard to find 1! + i hate the look of the round filter! Hi Guys, My first post here as well! Great forum, excellent info - well done! I just fitted a 28/36 DCD to my 4K KE20 and it is definately better than the aisan carb! Still does not go too well as I need to fit an exhaust and extractors yet, but definately more responsive. Those redline filters you are talking about, do you mean rectangular paper low profile type? I have seen some new old stock complete including housing near me for around $50. Quote
Felix Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) 28/36 DCD webers are very good. i ran one on a warmed over 4k with a 25/65 cam, extractors and exhaust for 3 1/2 years in my ke15. went really well, gave 35mpg and upset dozens of v6 drivers. my DCD had 25 mm primary and secondary venturis in it when i had it on the 4k. the venturis are replacable, making the DCD the most tunable 2 barrel asynchronous downdraft carb out there. 26mm primary and 27mm secondary venturis work well on a warm 5k. the foam filters are fine so long as you look after them and change the filter element if it dries out. usually you will get 2 years of use before you need to replace the foam. make sure you wash it out with soapy water. do not use petrol or it will rot prematurely. i know from experience. DGV weber filters are easily adaptable to a DCD with minimal mods. Edited April 3, 2006 by Felix Quote
