zedlep58 Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Changing the plugs over in the 4k and noticed the tubes housing the plugs and sealing the oil are worn, most likely from the previous owner over tightening the plugs (one so bad it's completely free even when the plug is tightened). Any ideas where i could get new spare parts or should i just go to a wreckers? i'm around the brisbane/sunshine coast area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) Personally I wouldn't use any from a wreckers. They're all getting pretty slogged out after 30+ years of changing plugs. I would just do what I did when I completed my last engine build - buy a new genuine set from toyota. From memory they were about $40 for the set but I knew the parts guy so may have got a little discount. Yes toyota genuine parts are expensive but hey, I should get another 30 odd years of no oil leaks! ;) Edited May 27, 2014 by Taz_Rx 2 Quote

altezzaclub Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) Go to your local Chery dealer and see if the early Chery SUV that used a Toyota 3Y has them that fit. Rob got a set from the dealership he works at and reckons they are the same, but I will email him now to confirm. Nope- A Great Wall SA220 uses them! Edited May 27, 2014 by altezzaclub Quote
