clarkkentanabi Posted October 31, 2018 Report Posted October 31, 2018 Hi All, I'm a new guy here. Basically I'm eyeing a KE35 being sold here in my area(Philippines) and after I have the bodywork, suspension, brakes done, I'm planning an engine swap. Now I was thinking first of doing a 4AGE but the T50 transmission is almost non-existent here in the market. I came across the 3SGE/3SGTE and SR20DE/SR20DET as well but the motor selling price alone is more expensive than the car("Drift Tax"). Now I came across a somehow underrated engine here in, the 1UZ-FE. I found one with a 4-speed manual trans. It's way cheaper and much more exciting imho(Who cares about mpg when you got a V8). Now I was wondering if what things should I consider when swapping this? Will it fit or do we have to do a lot of body work just to get it done. Hope to hear from you guys soon. Thanks! Regards, Clark Quote
kickn5k Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 It's not a legal conversion in the majority of states in Australia, so very few if any that are on here would have done it. I think it's going to be something that you will have to run a tape measure over both and work it out. Quote
ke70dave Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 You're gonna need an angle grinder, followed by an engine crane and finish off with a welder. If this guy can fit an LS1, you can fit a 1uzfe:) https://www.whichcar.com.au/features/ls-l98-powered-1978-toyota-ke30-corolla Quote
