Felix Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 nice clean brand new motor. :ninja: may be getting a set of steel rims off a Yaris shortly (hopefully the offset is right). not sure whether 14 or 15 inch yet. missus knows a guy who is a detailer at a toyota dealership. Quote
Felix Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 Told ya that 4A engines were getting into K series pricerange now getting there. yep, definitely going to get an engine crane. have a bit more room to swing one now, as i got a new fold up workbench the other day. i already have an engine stand, just need to get my old warm dished 4k off it and throw in the ke16. give it a bit more squirt. need to put it in soon as the 4k in the '16 has rooted stem seals. i might actually be going to check out a set of alloys with rubber for the nova tomorrow. Quote
Felix Posted June 21, 2006 Author Report Posted June 21, 2006 nothing really happening to the car as yet. should be getting into it shortly. may see about pulling the engine and box out on the weekend. i bought an engine crane and an engine leveller the other day. pretty happy about that, engine changes will be so much easier now. :) Quote
demuire Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Just found this thread (from Doug's For Sale thread). Umm, why can't you roll the car after you've taken the engine/box out? I've done it twice now on my Camry? The wheels don't go all floppy unless you disconnect the steering rack, the only thing flopping about are the CV's... Quote

It suggested that you totally remove the CV's from the car when changing an engine. But then again, it is hardly surprising that a workshop manual wouldn't steer you in the quickest, easiest direction for repairs. Anyway the fact is I have no interest in this car, though it is nice and all. As I said in the for sale thread, the missus looks as though she will be getting a work car shortly, so this one will just be taking up space. I'd prefer to keep and work on my ke1x's. :P This car is for sale, SEE HERE. Any further questions, or if anyone wants to have a look at it PM me. Edited June 26, 2007 by Felix Quote
