Valandor Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 bloody stoopid people that live here. as you all know i have been working on sharki my project te72 corolla. now i live in a block of units and have been working on it in the carport. i have spoken to nearly all of the tenants int he units and everyone is fine with it being there and with me working on it. everyone except two people apparantly. a while ago prolly about 2 months ago we get a letter from the real estate agents we rent from saying the car is eye sore please cover it up when you not working on it. fair enuff so i go and buy a car cover for it. decide later on that since my mate stuffed the paint work i'd take it to work so i can work on it after hours. good since i work next to the panel beaters that will be painting it for me. 2 weeks after i have moved it i get another letter saying the car is still an eyesore and must be moved. stoopid people that can't see the car is gone. so i let that one slide since the letter was sent before the car was moved. today however i get another letter this time date 10 days after the car was moved letting us know they are going to try and evict us for the car being there still!!!! What the? to make thing even more interesting they even added the rego number of the car despite the fact the plate were off witin 3 days of the car being there! meaning someone came into our yard to get the plates or went thru the car and found the rego papers on the notice of eviction they have changed the rego number to something not even remotely like what was on the car? stoopid people. i know who it is and which units they live in and i am trying to stop myself taking revenge on them because they are two old biddies who want the units to be a retirement village not a place for people to live. i am contemplating writing a letter letting them know that altho they had problems with the car it will be coming back because its not the same car.. check the rego number lol just my vent Quote
Raven Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Write to the real estate agents Clint, and tell them that the car was moved 2 weeks before the date of issue of the letter. Quote
Valandor Posted June 28, 2006 Author Report Posted June 28, 2006 already have effectively like i said it was just a rant Quote
Felix Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 you should contact the real estate agency, and invite them around to look at the car in question. :jamie: have you had a breach? i would investigate your rights through the residential tenancies act. we had hassles at one stage with an annoying landlord who would invite himself around, until one day he turned up at the wrong time. ;) anyway after that he got the real estate we were renting through to send a breach for 2 unregistered cars on the premises. (which incidently had been there 3 years without problems, and through numerous routine inspections before). what i did was research my rights on the residential tenancies authority website, and also contacted them. i passed on the information i found to the real estate agency, and came to a compromise. i got rid of one car and the other one would live under the carport. look at your tenancy agreement, research your rights.... Clown Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I guess I'm lucky where i live. I'm on 5 acres with good neighbours. One side has a modded car/harley and the other side is a trucky. No one has any problems with any of my cars, me working on cars with stereo goin at what ever time of the day/night/morning. I totally forgot what the time was the other night and had the stereo on the project rolla fairly loud while working on the subaru and not a single complaint. Quote
irokin Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I'm surprised we've not had letters from the council about complaints. At one stage I had 3 cars lined up on the street. I'm forever working on my cars. Hell the people over the road were having people look through the house and I was working on my car revving it a bit....they still bought the house! The neighbour down the hill comes up to have a look and lend advice when ever he hears I'm working on a car. The only time Ive had "problems" was when a guy up the road had his father over doing some work on his garden. I drove up the road with a little bit of boost and he gave me a very dirty look. Quote
