Get her done properly, saves you from pulling it apart down the track.

lol, a rebuild for under 200

hahahahahaha

is the bore glazed?

thats when it needs to be honed, but if your using new rings you need to rehone as this is what beds the rings in

reboring isnt nesecary unless its been honed a few times or is well worn...

what sort of rebuild are you talking?

ill give u the price of my 1ggte rebuild, 24 valve straight 6 admitadly...

redo valve seats and faces

skim head

deck block

balance bottom end

lighten and reface flywheel

hone bores

regrind crank due to excessive wear

~1200 (done by jack brothers racing, one of best workshops in qld)

would be about 450 cheaper if i didnt balance and lighten flywheel and regrind crank... but have to regrind, so have to balance...so why not lighten flywheel right :lolcry:

then,

h/g

head bolts

thrust washers

timing belt

~340

then

bearings

rings

valve stem seals

cam and crank seals

~500

obviously a 3t parts will be cheaper/more available but its not cheap brother, its not cheap

well this motor is short term motor

so i don't want to waste money on it.

Depends chris, you can de-ridge and hone it,re-ring it until you have the money to do it properly and it may go for ages.

Find a better engine thats running, new gaskets and welsh plugs and use that. If you want machining done it is going to cost a fair bit...

You can rebuild a K motor for 500 andy... if you know the right people...

price check on head gaskets, 4k vs 1ggte

hmm, thats 17 vs 104.95

everything more expensive for my engine....

like, i bought 2 sets of 4k rings

2 sets of 4k big end bearings

2 sets of 3s main beaings

coz thats cheaper than genuine and theyre the same size :)

but yeah...my engine is f@$ked...for a week or 2 more anyway :lolcry:

i got mine for 13.75 for the 3t and 9.95 for the 4k. :lolcry:

but i'm still trying to get some rings at a good price :(

can't be stuffed paying 50 to 70 bucks for them ;)

any way, i made a new contact that may come in handy. This chick my wife sells avon to works in the toyota distribution centre.

well there is no better way to be a tight ass than networking :D

and you can quote me on that!!! ha ha ha
