August 1, 200620 yr comment_131812 hay guys I'm building a ke70 daily/drifter and dropiing in a 3t gte and was wondering what the most negative camber you can have? as my ke still needs to pass pits?? cheers Report
August 1, 200620 yr comment_131814 I think you'll find there is no legal limit on camber - just physical and common sense constraints. Just remember that the greater negative camber you have, the more you're going to scrub out one side of each tyre. Plus, you don't want too much camber, as more camber doesn't necessarily mean faster. Remember you won't be able to brake as quick if you've got a bit too much. August 1, 200620 yr comment_131815 Ring your local roads authority. If it still has to go over the pits, leave it standard until then. Transport departments don't like welded mods or anything that doesn't look like it belongs there. However, if you're looking at it for a daily driver as well, you don't really want much more than 1.5 to 2 deg IMHO, otherwise it will a: chew tyres, b: be annoying to drive. I know people are going to say "but I run 6 deg and I don't have issues", well good luck to them. I beg to differ. Edited August 1, 200620 yr by Redwarf Report
August 1, 200620 yr comment_131871 From experience... 6deg is BULLSHIT!! My van had 6deg camber after fitting the wrong model Sigma lower arms... It was violent, nasty, and down-right unsafe to drive, steering weighed a ton, and it actually NOT fun!! Find an OLD SIGMA (need to be a really old GE model). Grab the lower arms out of that. They are visually Identical to the corolla ones (press-in balljoint and all), except about 1in longer. Replace the bushes, so they are nice and firm, and bang them in. They'll give you about 2deg camber which is all you need!! And transport will be lucky to pick up on it. This is your best, cheapest and most practical option... Report
