irokin Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Weber VS Aisan....any questions?? Getting there...still need to do some more work on the adapter plate, manifolds been somewhat match ported with the adapter plate. Made some changes, like ripping off the choke and inverting the throttle lever. Happy Happy Joy Joy :P Quote
Teddy Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 *WANT* sweet starting to look like a teddy and nick session - carbie, manifold, Nuts and bolts lol Cool - good job ! (is it on the 3k bigport inlet manifold?) :P Quote
irokin Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 nah the bigport is the dirty one there...it UNFORTUNATLY doesnt fit on the head with the KE30 dual plane manifold...meh Edit...piccys Quote
Teddy Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Pics comin ! Ben, if u EVER feel that the 3K Bigport inlet manifold needs a new home, I'm sure i could give compensation ! :fuzz: :P Quote
irokin Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 I'll keep it for now...until the weber goes on and I can check if the head is a bigport or not...shrugg who knows. It hasnt got the welsch plug but it seems toyota is far from a standard with heads :P the head was recoed about 10 or so years ago...its possible a stingy mechanic took the bigport for himself (thanks jackass) or it was an exchange head  Quote
ke1x Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 it's a 30 year old car. the original head probably spat a welsch plug and self destructed long ago. doubt there are many old corollas out there with the original engine in them. 10-15 years ago you could buy japanese import K series motors everywhere. not many people would spend a grand plus for a reconditioned 3k, when they could get a fresh import 5k for around $500. the first jap 4k i bought cost $425. 3k's weren't much over $300. pity you can't get them like that anymore. Super Jamie Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 thats about how much mine cost, self assembled. but that was 060 oversize, fully balanced, blah blah blah, plus a shitheap of labour repairing the bigport head. i wouldn't have paid that for a standard rebuild is that manifold with the big runners factory cast or have the ports been enlarged? how big are they (HxW)? what model weber is that? Quote
Teddy Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 can't get the ftp working... when i get home from tafe ill talk to nick and see why - pics are comin people ! Quote

irokin Posted May 28, 2004 Author Report Posted May 28, 2004 Just for reference the bigport manifold casting number is 24020, the small port is a 204040 and the one that was with the dual plane manifold is a 204042 :P time to figure manifolds out Quote
