September 12, 200620 yr comment_140415 they can get really hot so don't burn yourself. I'm not sure what they even do but the cars like to have them. Report
September 12, 200620 yr Author comment_140420 they get hot because they limit the current in the circuit this creates heat giving it the potential to get so hot it melts the metal inside losing contact between the two ends. Report
September 12, 200620 yr comment_140473 Hi, My KE30 witha 3K had this problem once before. But my fix was hard to find easy to fix. What happened is in the dissy cap the small spring loaded carbon rod that touches the top of the rotor and connects it to the coil broke off so it wasnt getting a good connection and spark was jumping here. Could never get engine to run fast some times start. So cheak this is still there and hasnt broken off on you. Cameron Report

September 13, 200620 yr comment_140582 Hi, I find the coils on the standard rolla are crap put a GT40 on it much better power fuel economy and starting and much better as my original coil shit its self Cameron Report
September 14, 200620 yr Author comment_140869 cheers , i put a bosch gt40 in with a resistor on the original bracket but the points actually ended up being the problem , i checked them when i did the ignition timing but since then they pitted n there was no gap, so made a gap n taadaah she started! runs fine but I'm getting new points today n i think ill look closer next time to avoid being imobile ! cheers for all your help guys Report
September 19, 200620 yr Author comment_141825 did the points the other day and has been fine since, also got a new fuel filter cuz the old one had 2 straight nozzles n i needed one with the right angle turn to fit nicely and also got smaller hoses to make sure there would be no petrol leaking ( replaced 5/16" with 1/4") Report
