i got mine done for the ke70 by a trimmer

can't remember but i thought it was ~100 to get it done.

all i did is took the original in with the metal rods and everything, and he used the original as a template and then just put the rods thru the new one.

then i took it home and put it in and got the windscreens put in.

 

philba, what you may find is that they are quoting you for:

1) removal of front and rear screens

2) removal of original roof lining

3) material

4) making the new lining

5) fitting the new lining

6)putting the front and rear screens back in.

 

with my car, my front screen was f@$ked, and i removed the rear screen myself before i did my paint work. so it was all out already.

once i got the lining made i of course had to get someone to come and put the screens back in (after repaint etc)

i can't remember what i paid, but my mate paid 55 each to take out and 55 each to put back in.

so 220 alone is just windscreen in and out.

but that was a mobile guy, not driven somewhere.

but if they are doing that i see whyt he price is high

 

yeah the trimmer said his window guy charges $75 but we can get them done for $70, it has no roof lining to remove so the arent charging for that, we have the foam and a rough pattern for the roof lining (none of them knew how to do it!) we had to cut the metal bars, no idea how they come out, so we'll have to get replacement ones of them too, but I know a dude at a wrecker who should be able to get me them. if the screens and material I do myself it should be closer to the 100 mark right?

70 bucks is alot just to remove a screen....

and more to the point, you should have asked how to remove the metal rods, all you do is rotate them down and then bow them and they will come out.

putting the bastards back in is a reversal of this procedure and an absolute headf@$k from memory

Taking the screans out is simple. You should be able to do it yourself. All you'd need is to get someone to put them back for you. Its pretty cool how they do it too. :)

hey man we couldnt really ask anyone at the time we were at mitchs work, i thought it would be simple, a few came out but the others.... the saw got to em!

Yeah, it had 4 bars, but now I don't think any are their original length. Thanks to the air-saw.

I'm sure you can get some from the wreckers, have you worked out how they work now? :)

What? A lot of grunting and swearing? I got that far. My ke70 has nothing as a roof lining at the moment. I not keen on the wreakers here, they overcharge by about an arm and a leg, sometimes a kidney

lol, i can pull the ones outta my parts car for u if u want, and send it all down to you, ill even let you keep your kidney :)

and document how they come out etc if u like
