Front & rear strut braces to suit the AE82 are available at tonnes of places.

 

Good luck on brake upgrades, twincam AE82 brakes are about your only known upgrade, aside from possibly AE101/111.

The brace is 25x1mm square tube.

While the mounts are made from 50x25x3mm rectangle tube cut down to size.

 

The motors going through a rebuild at the moment.

Thanks for the pics, looks like a good job, but you see what I mean with the thread? the nuts are flush with the thread without the plate weakening the nuts with the plate by taking couple of threads away. There isnt much upwards force so I guess this would be ok. how thick is the plate? 1mil? Thanks for the brake link also I didnt know about it.

2mm thick. Its not a plate but, 50x25x2mm rectangle tube cut down to size.

In the pics i said it was 50x25x3mm, it should have been 50x25x2mm.

 

Yeah i know what you ment with the threads but i wasn't overally worried with it cause the bolts cushed into the metal and formed it a little.
