  1. i'll be going out to tory's wednesday night cruise next week, as i'm working tomorrow night. If i find some velocity stacks i might even bring the corolla out :|
  2. ooo... nice and close, I'm keen to come along.
  3. do they make u drive it? or is it a choice to save fuel / wear n tear on ur own car. I work in your region by the way :bash: and yes i know that some deadshits (street trash/cool kids/homeless deadshits/ect) there damage the company car just for the fact that its a company car. Didn't someone try ripping off the shark fin there one night a while ago? almost as bad as the caboolture stores customers. I've noticed that where I'm working at the moment, some tossers have kicked in 3 panels, keyed the side 2 or 3 times, and slashed 2 tyres in a matter of 2-3 weeks.
  4. after doing alot of kms in a manual dominos echo, you learn that they are half decent cars. The echo at my shop was looked after quite well apart from the 2nd gear synchro. There is a bit of body roll in them but u can actually use that to u'r advantage when cornering, the steering isn't bad, the aircon makes near to no difference with acceleration, and it does go pretty good for a 1.5L. The clutch shouldnt be spongy unless its been thrashed, the brakes stop u in a hurry, and it IS possible to have a little fun in them in the rain but u have to be careful since it has a short wheel base, they spin quicker, hill starts is just basic clutch control (but if u have a rooted clutch then u will need to rev it a bit), and i quite like the idea of the cluster in the middle, it does make it safer, you're using more vision and can glance down at it while ur checking whats ahead. The seat is up way too high in my opinion, and i don't understand how people can drive it with the steering wheel tilted any higher than the lowest setting. U can get the seat right to be in control of the car, u just have to learn it. As for the auto echo, i hate driving autos cuz there is no control when cornering (i like to feel the load when i'm taking corners), they are slow and the aircon makes a difference in power. The yaris's suspension is crap imo. It feels like a boat to drive... yet again another automatic car. Those are my opinions.
  5. Evo IX - went for a test drive with the dealer and he almost ran into Highway Patrol RB20DET S13 - that was fun... mate clutch kicked 3rd at about 100 and put it sideways down the street 4AGTE Sprinter - Going over mt nebo in that was heaps fun, woulda been more fun driving tho, some r34 thought it could keep up and we lost it in 3 corners.
  6. done a good job cleaning up the engine bay :D and the alloys really suit as well. Later in the year I might be down that way with a friend so it'd be great to see it in real life.

    Ed's Ae101

hey sorry for the delayed reply... looks like I'll be going with pedders for the suspension thanks to their 10month repayment scheme, seems i need struts springs and bushes so It'll be a bit costy, the repayment scheme will take off most of the slack to make it alot more affordable. ok... progress is as follows. New Years Eve installed the splits (well not the tweeters yet cuz i can't work out where to put them) in the front doors... the JBL 6.5" speakers fit in the doors, with a little modification. had standard 2way 5.25" in it i think (don't quote me tho lol). 4th January I decided to get stuck into my car again after work last night to remove the feedback and install the 6x9s, seems the rcas were having a bitch about the electricals to the central locking, tail lights and fuel sensor so when the car was running it sounded like I'd left the car with the lights on... farking annoying lol, easy fix by slightly moving the cables (also found the hose to the rear window washer lol). 6x9s are just sitting in speaker boxes and the amp is a bit neater then it has been the last 2 months. I've decided to get motivated again looking for an ae101 fxgt front bar and am looking for one in about a months time. Also when i get some spare time sometime this month I will be pulling apart the instrument cluster to make some custom face guages, and door trim for a change of colour. AND i'm pretty sure I've decided on a new silver paint job (like rav4 silver) in the future with some sort of chrome? dressing.
  8. I might bring my car out to one of these soon, its nothing special tho. let me know when u're thinking of heading out.

    Ed's Ae101

yes... that will be the hardest part of the sound system however with a bit of modification I hope they'll fit. when i get a free weekend (hopefully this one) I'll pull the door panel off for a look to see what i can achieve :jamie:
  11. nice 101. haha well done on getting the cup holders, one thing that most ae101s are missing lol. I like the black rims on the white car, what had to be done for the 6.5" splits to fit in the doors?
  12. the car is coming along very nicely... Would love to see it when its finished :jamie:. should go good too
  13. starting to look good :jamie: I'm sure i've seen the lanos around, the plates look real familiar. well i am 2 suburbs up from petrie and drive around a fair bit so u know I probably have. Hope to see this on the street :jamie:
