  1. Hey guys, A new cruise up to "sky high" lookout area has been organised on twincam.org for saturday the 25th. Meeting place is nunawading McDonalds on the corner of Whitehorse and Springvale Road, at 3 pm for an aproximate 3.30pm departure. Would be awesome to have a few more rollas and what not to attend.
  2. Hey Guys, I'm calling on all Melbournians to help me in my quest. I'm looking to pick up a set of second hand springs for my sohc AE82 corolla. If anyone has a spare set of superlows they have lying around and are willing to part with them for some cash, Please let me know! PS I am located in the Northern Suburbs, Prefer pickup. PPS- i have already posted this in the WTB/for sale section, however thought I'd post here aswell. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hey guys, thanks for the replies, i also forgot to mention that the engine sits at 400-500 revs when in neutral at a standstill, so yeah, I'm not quite sure how this new information will affect your evaluations of my problem, Thanks guys ,
  4. Hey guys, So today I start up my car and drive out, when i get to the roundabout i press the clutch to go from 4th to 2nd and the revs drop suddenly to just 400-500 revs. This is a far cry from the 700-800rpm the car normalls sits at in neutral. It feels like it's about to stall every time i put the clutch in. This is making everyday driving more difficult, and is really pissing me off. I thought the carby may have been clogged with shit (It's a 4A-C by the way) so i bought some fuel additive to clean it out, but to no avail. At first i thought the hot weather today may have had an effect, however i've been driving it around just in the last hour at night time and the problem still persists. Does anybody have any advice as to what i should do? This is really annoying me, i like to have a near perfect running car! Many thanks in advance! Adam.
  5. Hey guys, Well, as the title states, i think it is time for my little corolla to be lowered. Last week i got an exhaust, and i've had the rims for a couple of months, and its time to get this thing nice and low. The thing is, i have no idea what is involved with lowering an AE82 sohc corolla such as mine. Is it simply a matter of putting in new lower springs? Can anybody reccomend a place in melbourne that could perform this work, or provide me with the springs to do it? Furthermore, how much will this operation cost? Thank you very much in advance! 6. Is there any progress in coming to a conclusion as to where the next meet will be?
  7. My car is know in these areas infamously as "The Schnitzel Burger" a.k.a "Schnitzy" for short...
  8. Ruts, that would be sensational mate, or even if you could post up, or PM me the actual images so i can have a fiddle around, that would be fantastic. Much appreciated.
  9. has anybody made any custom gauges for an ae82? I wouldnt mind doing this myself
  10. Hi guys, I have a question. Basically, i used to know a panel beater that used to "modify" the exhausts of his cars. As a result, the cars always sounded a bit louder and tough! All with the car's standard exhaust What i want to know is, "is it possible to somehow make the standard exhaust on my ae82 corolla sound a little tougher and "rorty" by doing a few simple modifications? Basically, insurance wont allow me to modiy my car with an aftermarket exhaust, and i can't stand driving a car that has such a wimpy exhaust note. Please help!
  11. Yeah Mate, the weather was amazing today, not a cloud in the sky. Perfect day for some cruising.
  12. Hey! There's my car! (The one with the "Real Men Drive Corollas" Sticker on the back) Thanks to the fact that i was simply driving past when i spotted this meet, I've now signed up. :)
  13. Hi guys, Just thought i'd introduce myself. My name's RootMan and I own a 1988 Corolla Hatch. It's pretty standard, but it's got a few flashy things in the interior, as well as some new 4 inch and 6x9 inch speakers, a 600 watt amp and a 12 inch sub. On the outside I have colour coded the bumpers and mirrors and sprayed the stockies black for that extra "rice" look. It's my first car, and although it is nothing special by any stretch of the imagination, i worked very hard for 2 years so that i could afford it, and so therefore, i am very proud of my rolla. I came to know this club after i drove past a meeting of yours in Victoria just today. Basically, i saw a bunch of Corollas and thought i'd check it out. Some of the guys may remember me, I'm the bloke with the "Real Men Drive Corollas" sticker on the back of my car. hahaha Well, anyhoo, It was nice meeting some of you today, and hopefully i will come to get to know more of you as time goes on during my visit at Rollaclub.com Regards, Rootman
