  1. aaah trusty old spacers on the front, i need the same spacers for my ROH 15 inch mags. looking good ;) Andrew
  2. recently bought a 1 owner 1982 ke70, pretty good condition. it has a few bits of surface rust here and there but no big rust patches. Only thing that is wrong with it is the clear coat is fading off on the bonnet , bootlid and a little bit on the roof. The car has done 260 000k's and it's the original engine, gave it a service the other day and it's gutless as hell but cheap on fuel ;) hopefully 1 day it will get a new paint job and mild 4age conversion with the stuff thats in my ae71 paddock basher. So far i have put the back mags on it, the front mags will go on when i can afford all new bushes and a wheel allignment. I've also replaced the interior with my ae71 dark blue interior as i like it better then the light blue :P I have brand new suspension and lowered king springs to make it look a little better for the time being. any thoughts / recommendations welcome also if anyone knows how to get some more power out of the little 4k-c without making it louder i welcome your feedback, cheers Andrew
  3. where are you located mate? i have a trade account at autobarn and could get you a k&n filter for a lot cheaper eg. retail on the filter i bought $149.99 - on sale price $70 - trade account price $62 if you or anyone is in brisbane i don't mind checking prices and getting them better prices, cheers Andrew
  4. i've picked 2 up in brisbane, 1 for $60 the other $80, not too bad considering that with a hoist and air ratchet you can change a diff over in about 40 minutes :jealous:
  5. i'll get my dad to have a look at it first then, he's more electrically inclined and has all the gear etc, thanks for all the advice Andrew
  6. yeah they are brand new, the bulbs were in them already and the bulbs are in te right position ( the double filament bulb in the middle for parkers/brakes ) . i tried using the old wiring set that i pulled out of it and it does the same thing :D so now i'm even more confused, might have to take it to an auto electrician :jealous: Andrew
  7. they are brand spanking new sets...... all bulbs already inserted, all wiring already done tho thats the part thats confusing me O_o
  8. well on my new project ( 1982 ke70 ) the tail lights bulb casing were all brittle and fell apart, so i went and bought both brand new lights etc. these have been installed and the drivers side set work fine, but ghosts in the machine are making the LHS set do strange things. when the left indicator is turned on the brake lights flash when the brakes are put on the reverse light comes on and when you put it in reverse the indicator comes on so theres power etc getting through it's just not putting the right light on at the right time. the plugs can only be inserted 1 way so thats right, any ideas on whats going on here? :jealous: thanks in advance Andrew
  9. nick - r3s real- Andrew location - waterford west ( 4133) had an old ae71, used for paddock basher now. currently fixing up my new daily driver, a 1982 ke70, will post pics once it's finished. :jealous:
  10. the engine in my paddock basher revs to 7000rpm, doesn't soud too crash hot but has never let go so it's quite a tough reliable engine  Andrew
  11. i don't know how you could come to the conclusion that a 4a-c engine is unreliable , i've got 1 sitting at my mum and dads, have been paddock bashing it for 6 months and haven't had to change a thing on the engine in that time, the thing just keeps on going ( much like the 4k ke70 that was used before it ) . a reco'd 4a-c has alright power for the fuel economy from my experience, you may disagree. Andrew
