  1. Upgraded my KE70 with a set of restored TE71 wheels!!
  2. Been there, done that. Both KE70-style keys from locksmith and from eBay i already got.. and do not fit my door and ignition because shape is totally wrong. Locksmith said he can grind them but they will only fit my boot/fueldoor. I am after new locks for my doors and ignition now and like to have genuine ones. I don't know if the aftermarket KE70 sets that are on eBay (see link few messages above) are of reasonable quality. I'm afaid it will be buy-and-pray..
  3. What type of steering wheel does the KE70, KE71 have at your side? I'm looking for a leather/vilyl wrapped steering wheel that was original on a TE71 GT Levin for a while now but found nothing.. Model and size of the steering wheel is same as the fully plastic stock KE70 steering wheel. So If you know other models have also a kind of ´luxury´ steering wheel please let me know. (see below pic of a TE71 GT Levin steering wheel that is leather or vinyl wrapped) I want to give my KE this great add!
  4. Think these are for later model Corolla´s. Looks like my AE101 key.
  5. Sound very logic.. But i have seen some pictures of RHD KE70s and the ignition barrel is always located on the right side of the steering wheel.. and i think the key will turn clockwise. That is same as in my LHD : on right side of the steering wheel and to start is turnig key clockwise. Anyway a very good tip to find it out exactly just to be sure of it. Already found this new set on Australian eBay : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-81-84-KE70-71-AE70-71-IGNITION-BARREL-DOORS-LOCKS-BOOT-LOCK-/290755704428
  6. A forum member that donate parts to make my KE70 complete... That have to make us all happy!
  7. Oh yes, that would be so great!!! I will contact you. Thanks!!
  8. Just because it is possible : My KE70 proudly visible on Google Streetview when it was at the Toyota/Lexus that day!! Link to Google streetview : http://www.google.com/maps?ll=52.205108,6.891239&spn=0.005129,0.010933&sll=52.204977,6.891279&layer=c&cbp=13,261.11,,0,1.16&cbll=52.2052,6.891224&t=m&z=17&panoid=qIvWzBpEu8nz4qzOTCry9A
  9. Enough talk... time for pictures!!
  10. Still to do : Wheels and tires : Tires have enough profile but are very old, needs new ones. Also, i already got a set of genuine TE71 rims (as on picture), they only need to be restored first. Steering wheel : Already looking for a while to find one : a leather steering wheel of a TE71... ---> If someone knows one, please contact me!! Lock and keys : Make all locks go with same key and have spare key.. Rev dash cluster : I have found a dash cluster of a TE71 with rev counter. Have to find out if this will work in my 4K KE70
  11. Latest modification is without any pictures... The car had a 4-speed manual gearbox.. and i found a revised K50 gearbox (right, time, right place, right part!) so now it got a 5-speed gearbox.
  12. Radio... i took the one with LCD display out and replaced it by a vintage Panasonic one. Got my hands on a genuine double-set of TEN radio and cassette so will put that one in soon. A Pity it is missing 1 knob..
  13. Took the aftermarket grille with foglights out and replaced by a brand new, original grille... Added a chrome trim too. Around the wheel arches and on the back is also aftermarket chrome trim.. that is fitted so nice by former owner that i keep it that way. Same for the "Coupé" badge. All other chrome parts like the bumpers and door handles are very rare on a KE70 Coupe. I think the former owner upgraded the car once because normally these parts were always black.
  14. Time for the first changes.. i want the KE to be stock OEM. Removed the double pipe exhaust. Replace the complete rear and middle section of the exhast by a new, genuine Toyota one. And fitted a chrome tip (don't have picture of)
  15. Yes, it is greatest style of all E7 models! This KE style is like the TE71 GT Levin.. Because of rust just a few KE´s are left here and maybe 2 or 3 are Coupe model. That time Holland got them all, TE71, AE86 and AE92 sporty models.. but after that only economic models. So the great 4AGE-20v engine is never sold here. Toyota sells the FT86 now but who want to buy it? The fuelprice is about 2.30 AU Dollar each liter at the moment here. Dank je wel (thanks!) Car comes from Veluwe area.
