  1. Thanks mate, yeah sure did. They're on the engineers too. I know you hate em but I LOVE EM! hahaha... :D
  2. So I finally got her passed for rego on saturday! I was stoaked the only thing they knocked me back for was the front seat belts! So anywayz here she is across the road check it out you can see the rego sticker in the corner of the front window! Woohoo....
  3. Yeah they're good coz they also give you more clearence around the strut so you can fit different offset wheels on and no scrub! The rear brakes are just stock yeah. Plans for the future -> Diff upgrade. I'm thinkin of shortening a commo diff or maybe a hilux diff I'm not sure, gonna do some research first, it all depends if I decide to go turbo down the track! :D
  4. Hey mate lucky for you i didn't throw out the info for em. The part no. is SP6GBR for the right seat and SP6GBL for the left seat. They are autotechnica monza seats and like fusion said I got em from Repco $400 for a pair! They bolted straight to the original rails, their was a couple of small things i had to do. Firstly I had to elongate the hole at the front of the rails that bolts to the floor. Also I had to unbolt the buckle and the frame that holds it there coz it wouldn't fit on the monza seats. There was a rubber plug in the right position on both sides of the car which i removed and was the right thread for the buckles to bolt to. It made the buckles really short and a bit hard to reach but I had to get new seatbelts for blue slip so I just got longer buckles and it worked out fine. Yes they do recline all the way forward but you loose the feature of the passenger seat sliding forward when reclined. Hope that helps. Cheers, Mick.
  5. Ok here you go, I hope this helps ya Basically you just drill a serious of holes inside the lines and file it to fit, do a test run first on a bit of scrap. Cheers, Mick
  6. Thanks dude, I noticed Rolla's blinkers the other day they look sweet, infact his whole ride is hot! It definately would be an easier option then mine. It all depends what look your after i suppose. I spent a bit of time on the body work of mine coz she was pretty beaten up so I decided a bit of extra work on the blinkers wouldn't hurt. I'll get ya those pics and dimensions tommorrow and post em here. Cheers, Mick
  7. Thanks mate, its that Ford Orange you see on all the new falcons its called Blood Orange
  8. I fitted commo vt blinkers on my ke35, I think they're much the same. I just plated and bogged the old hole at the front of the guard and repositioned them towards the back of the guard (like where most new cars are today), on the wiring sides of things i just put new plugs on both the blinker and the car and it didn't matter which order the wires were they worked either way. Fitting was pretty easy just had to make a nice shape hole for the clip on the back of the blinker to slide and lock onto the guard. I did a couple of test runs on a bit of scrap metal first to get it right. :D If you need any help with this i can take a few photos of the hole i cut out to give you a ruff idea. Just PM me Cheers Mick
  9. I'm not quite sure exactly, i was in a bit of a rush cause i had to get back to work so this is what he told me. He said he cleaned the plugs changed the return line to 5/16" and drained the oil and changed the filter because there was fuel in the oil due to the return line being too small and building up too much pressure. I don't know maybe it worked its way past the valves, Is this possible? I just know the emissions is below 2% and it doesn't smell anywhere near as rich as before. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this subject, how would fuel get into the oil.
  10. Sweet as mate. I got her back today and it seems to have fixed the problem, looks like the return line was way too small and because of that the fuel was mixing with the oil. She runs heaps better now. Now its off to the auto electrician to sort out my ghost in the wiring, lol. Can't seem to get my dash lights and tail lights to work. I've tried everything, checked the fuse, checked the earths, check the resistance in the wires????? Can't figure it out so it's off to the pro's. The only new chrome work on her is the strip around the windscreen rubbers, is that what you mean? All the rest is factory
  11. Thanks mate, yeah it's that blood orange from Ford. Haven't rang the mechanic today I'll stop in there tommorrow to see how its all going. I hope to have it on the road in the next week or two! Fingers crossed. Got any pics of ya ke20?
  12. Bit of an update, I took her to get Engineered last Thursday and all went well, drove out there no problems! It was a smooth ride, very pleased. So he inspected the car and was impressed with it all so he sent me for an Emissions test on monday and it failed, The mechanic said the reading needs to be on 2% and it was on 8% so he needs to do a diagnostics test on her to see why she's running rich! I got a call from him today and he said that the fuel return line is too small and that it needs to be 5/16" instead of 1/4" which i'm hoping will bring it down a bit but I don't like the chances! I know when i got the motor off thriller there where a few vaccum hoses plugged up so I think there's gotta be more to do anyways. See how it goes, wish me luck!
  13. Well like I said before "each to their own", thanks aecorolla. Anywayz I'm not about to go hooning around the streets like i'm on a freakin' race track or something I wanna keep my licence and my car in one peice so what do I car what it handles like It's my ride and it's how I like it. Personally I don't like the old school look, I like new things new look new music If I was to guess you'd probably drive around your old school car listening to old school gay music like Metallica or something like that. but I'm not about to jump on someone's thread and slag em about their ride or where they're from, seriosly dude not cool! So anywayz "each to their own"!
  14. Oh well, each to their own I suppose. I was gonna put a set of simmons b45s on but I like the bling factor with these 17's. lol. I'm pretty happy with the paintjob too!
  15. Thanks dude, I got out of it easy coz an old friend from school was doin cashies in his garage. Although this girls been off the road for like 6 yrs running and i've only just got her to the way i've always wanted! Yeah I know i'm a bit lazy, haha.
  16. A bit of an update on how things are going. I started fitting my new carpet and bolted in the gearshifter rubber boot and also fitted my new Autotechnica bucket seats which conveniently bolt straight up to the original seat rails! I've also removed my old dash ready for an the new one. In the process of pulling out the dash i thought I'd remove the heater unit and check the heater tap to see if it leaks and sure enough it was leaking. So I bought a universal tap from autopro and some heater hose and cut off the old tap and used the left over pipe and this is what i came up with... Old tap New tap The only other thing i had to do was extend the plastic encased wire that opens and shuts the valve. Other then that it works sweet! Next a few pics of my new seats and carpet... Finally a few pics to show her off 95% complete
  17. Hey guys I'm running a 4age in my ke35 and i've got a surge tank setup in the boot and the pre pump is noisy when the car is not in motion but when i'm driving it becomes tempramental and is noisy sometimes and quite others. I can't figure it out? I disconnected the high pressure pump so that I could fill the surge tank up and after ten seconds or so it goes quiet so I figure the tank is full so I run the car on idle and after a while, say a few mins, it becomes noisy again. I'm thinking the pre pump maybe faulty or it can't keep up with the high pressure pump? Any advice would be great. Cheers Mick.
  18. Hey mate, try changing your head back to the 5k it'll be fine just low compression compared to the 3k-h. Also did you try a wet compression test to see if your rings were worn? If not try putting about 1-2 teaspoons of oil in the cylinder chamber then do the test again if the compression rises significantly then worn rings are the case. Cheers Mick.
  19. Thanks Jip_01, I'm pretty happy with the progress so far and now a little bit of an update. so my old boy welded some nuts in place for my rubber boot to bolt on over the gear shifter so now I can start fitting my new carpet! :) We also made me up a bracket so i could relocate my surge tank to the other side so i could fit my hi flow filter in and also gives me more room to get a spare in and out! Its so close but I just always get stuck having to do other stuff on weekends lately and haven't had much time to spend on her ;) Anywayz slow and steady wins the race I always say! So I'll leave yaz with some more pics More room for my filter! Still yet to stone tray and bumpers on! Still gotta fit all my new rubbers too! Not long now, I'm hoping a month and she'll be all done, wish me luck guys.
  20. Nice work mate. I work with fibreglass for a living as I'm a boatbuilder. The only bad thing is that fibreglass doesn't stick to plastic that well so over time it may delaminate. I'm thinking of doing my whole dash, not just the facia, in my ke35. I helped my brother do his rx-7's we basically just peeled all the plastic vinyl off and just fibreglassed straight on to the foam underneath. Then just bog and faired the whole thing. Anywayz good work :)
  21. Thanks mate, Nah the Chev's not mine its my mates who painted my car for me. Check out the for sale forums theirs a couple of KE35's for sale you could do it up yourself to granny spec! They're good to modify, if you do a search you'll find other threads where members have done conversions, mods etc You'll find some handy tips and great information that'll give you a better idea Cheers, Mick
  22. Hey Guys bit of an update on my ride! She's been sitting around in the weather for a while now, due to lack of funds I haven't been able to finish her off, and she started developing a bit rust so I did as much as I could to get her ready to be finished off while I got some funds together. I decided I had to finish getting her painted so I sent her to a mate's as I didn't have the room or the resources. Here's some photo's of the progress He painted her the same color just 2pac instead of the old acrylic. I need to move the surge tank and finish off the plumbing then all thats left is to put her back together and get an engineers report then she's ready for a blue slip and hopefully get her back on the road!
  23. Love the ute dude. :S I didn't even know they existed untill now! I sold a panelvan to a friend and he planned on cuttin n shut it to make his own rolla ute. Not too sure if he still is tho. :hmm: Anywayz tidy ride! good work
  24. Thanks for the comments guys, appreciate it! Oh n Josh, yeah you're the man! Thanks for the help with everything! You shiny pants H@M@ haha. Mine will kick you're hill climber any day! More about my ride. I've stripped the inside of everything except the dash so i can weld up the hole in my transmission tunnel Here are some more photo's of the progression! Hole in the trans tunnel to weld up Surge tank, fuel pumps. Not completely finished yet. Still gotta secure hose's The Donk! 99% Complete, needs a detail tho! Now just a few pics to show her off! I've ordered new carpet and in the next week I plan on getting some Autotechnica bucket seats, which fortunately enough, just bolt straight onto the original rails! :D I've got myself an immaculate dash on the way too, thanks to Josh (Bigger is better). Then all that is left is the finishing touches, a bit of detail in the engine bay and the boot and i'll be as happy as a pig in mud! :)
