finally got around to scanning dyno sheet
-
240rwhp on 14psi 275rwhp on 18psi pump fuel and full exhaust.

yeh my mate did the paint in under a month which was good considering it went back to bare metal. yeh would be good to see another corolla there just hope mine is still going by then, if not will be racing my new toy 1jz cressida
-
should be back together and on dyno thursday all going well.
-
getting there tune in the next week i hope
-
i have just paid for my spot in the boostcruising drag day on 6 july just wondering if i can expect any other corollas there?
-
i have the arms with press in ball joint and two piece tapered inner bush gives probably 2 degrees so plenty for a road car, the bolt in ball joint arms are way to long. you would be better off finding arms with press in ball joints and press in control arm bushes as i had to buy two sets of bushes because i needed the inner crush tube out of the press in control arm bushes and the two piece tapered bush for the arms i had. the tapered arms in the sigma had the crush tube on the bolt and the bolt wont fit the corolla. hope that makes sense

slowly getting there

yeh i was happy that the manifold fitted as well it is close on the strut tower but my motor is mounted fairly high so think thats why it fits.
-
car is running again decided to do a few more mods so has taken some more time, ended up making a 3 inch exhaust as i think the press bent 2.5 the car had was very restrictive. painting will start this weekend and hopefully be done in a few weeks ready for a tune. i also have a set of 205/50 15 m/t street radials awaiting my return to the drags. i also did the sigma control arm upgrade to correct the camber of the xt131 struts.

nah cortina didnt make 11's turbo blew up did make it in zoom but. just saving for micro tech now still deciding if i should go 3 bar map sensor or not.

Ive bought a new daily driver so now don't have to rely on this car to be as reliable so have decided for some new mods. I purchased a t3 garret from a swap meet with a .48 rear housing have had this rebuilt with .6 front cover and a 50mm comp wheel am running a stainless manifold and 35mm wastegate. Fuel system will be microtech, 440cc bosch injectors, 910 bosch pump, peterburg lift pump, surge tank and sard fuel regulator. I have fitted a 450x300 intercooler, remote oil filter, oil cooler, tailshaft loop, 3inch dump pipe to cat still 2.5 inch after cat for now, plumb back 1jz bov and oil catch can is plumbed back into intake so legal reasons. Car will be getting painted in the next couple of weeks (staying white just needs a freshen up) then micro tech will be fitted and then will try get some dyno time for a tune. Will be limiting power to around 240-250rwhp as motor is still standard, as soon as its running will start rebuilding the spare motor i have with spool h beams rods and acl forged pistons. Heres some pics.

yeh definately looks much better than the blue it was haha, the new front panels wernt the easiest to fit but worked out in the end. I still have a spare ca18det sitting at home but not sure if i have the energy yet.
-
yeh i don't mind them like that, plus I'm to lazy to get the tires flipped on the rims. tried to find a new window today but no luck so far.
-
yeh didnt realise till i got them home, pitty the tires are directional.
-
just thought i would put some pics of my new toy up, i can't help myself just keep buying cars haha. its going to be stock for now just a run around car, sick of driving my nice cars everyday. wheels are r31 skyline before anyone asks. looking for a new passenger side window if anyone can help to? or if anyone knows a wreckers that has one?
-
i know this has probably been covered a million times but can someone tell me what model sigma control arms i need to use with my xt130 struts to get correct camber? by the look of the bushes i need the 80 onwards model or any of the scorpion arms.
-
yeh i will try and find a rb20 air flow meter, but the resistor cost me $2 and i get free dyno use so will be trying that first. It still has plenty of fuel so far but will be watching it closely with future mods, then i will upgrade the injectors when need be. The car is going to stay the same as it is until i get me other car sorted (i want to get it into the 11's on street tires) after the cortina runs 11's, the corolla will hopefully be following it and running similar times one day.
-
car is making 203rwhp and 60 foot was 1.980 which is about the best 60 foot i will get on those tires. will leave it how it is for now and in a couple of months fit my resistor to air flow meter to stop boost cut and try and run about 16psi. hopefully then will make around 230rwhp and run around 12.3 with decent tires.
-
Ran the car at willowbank last night and ran 12.9 at 106.7mph on crap 185/14 tires and 12psi so bigger and better times to come once i buy bigger tires and screw boost to about 16psi.
-
well results were alot better than i expected, the only mods the car has are 2.5 inch press bent exhaust with standard dump, small front mount and 11psi, with standard turbo made 178.6rwhp and with changing only the turbo to t25g made 203.7rwhp on 12psi. still has plenty of fuel for more boost so that is the next mod get rid of boost cut and see what around 16psi does. i have a feeling but that the standard injectors will ruin the party at about 220-230rwhp but time will tell.
-
explain more about the rb20 air flow meter, is it just better, or will it raise boost cut as it is off a bigger motor that would draw more air.
-
yeh i was thinking about getting a mines chip but can't find where i was looking at them now. it will be done on the dyno and i only want to raise boost cut by about 2-3 psi, which should be no problem as i still have air fuel ratios between 10:0 and 11:0 at full boost. worst case i will put a fuel reg on it to bump up fuel pressure not the best way but will still be safe jsut wont get the full potential as it will be running to rich.
-
just wondering if anyone can tell me how to get rid of boost cut on a ca18det, i know that i can just run a resistor to the signal wire of the airflow meter but not sure what kind of resistor to run. apparently you can even get a adjustable resistor.

put new turbo on last night, and on rollers again this morning was a fair gain from 178 to 203rwhp. it is also has a bit more lag which was expected and comes on a bit softer which helps alot with the wheelspin problem. dyno sheet
