  1. looking good what sort of power figures will you be chasing
  2. few mods so far, cat convertor now flows alot better :) rb20 throttle body fitted(was about 5mm bigger than standard one) and 600cc injectors are in. going to make a call monday about regrind camshafts probably something around 270 degree 8.8 lift.
  3. looks like will be buying camshafts before the drags doesnt seem to want to make any more power and cams are the only thing i can think that is still a restriction. will also get some injectors and then back to dyno soon.
  4. will see how i go on the dyno tomorrow and decide where to go from there as i don't think its going to make as much as i want. so might have to take you up on those injectors if you want to pm me what you want for them.

  7. sounds like fun, i ran 12.9 in my ke 30 with only 203rwhp so you should be looking at a mid 12 easy. I'm heading to the drags saturday would be good to see another corolla there
  8. anybody know where to buy decent camshafts for a ca18? does anyone local do them or are there only tomei and so on available?
  9. engine bay all back together just got to make new exhaust now. will let you know on the injectors going to see how i go with the 440cc first.
  10. about time i pulled my finger out and got it going
  11. Car is alive again with new motor which now has acl .5mm (20thou) forged pistons, spool conrods, arp head studs, acl multi layer headgasket, acl extra series bearings, cam gears, 3 angle valve job. We pulled turbo down and fitted a bigger shaft and wheel but still having surging problems over 16psi (probably has someting to do with still running a .48 exhaust housing) so am changing to a .7 split pulse t3 housing and a bigger shaft and wheel again. While its apart i am also making to new exhaust manifold as i am currently running a chinese stainless one, so should be able to pick up another 10-20rwhp with the bigger housing and better manifold but the dyno will tell that soon enough. Injectors will be the next hold up as they are only 440cc so think they will but an end to the fun at about 300-320rwhp but they will have to do for now while i save for cams and bigger injectors. I'm hoping that 300rwhp will get me somewhere around 11.7 at 116mph. (previously ran 12.07 with 274rwhp). I will post some pics when manifold is getting closer.
  12. motor is looking a bit sad so have decided to do the rebuild while its still running and doesnt have a rod throught the side of the block. oil pump seems to be starting to give up. have big plans for the car so am not going to do a half arsed job so will probably be 6 months before it sees the road again, havent decided how far i want to go but somewhere between 320rwhp and 400rwhp is the goal. reserve car is getting ready for powercruise (1jz cressida) so it now has 3 inch exhaust and some more boost and deciding weither to do dump pipes before powercruise.
  13. new turbo went on and front wheel was to big was surging so is now back off getting a new shaft and wheel for better flow, should have it back next week ready for tune before powercruise.
  14. replaced head gasket last week and raced again sunday but couldnt better the 12.07 that i ran last time so turbo is off already and is getting modified throught the week. hopefully will have it back by weekend and maybe tuned again next week ready for return to the drags.
  15. heading to willowbank again next sunday hoping to have a little play and see if it has an 11 how it sits. if it doesnt then turbo is coming off for a mate to modify and might race it a jamboree. anyone else entering qld powercruise end of august?

  17. no motor wont be in before powercruise still need to buy lots of parts, still deciding what to do with the turbo needs to be lots bigger. does anyone know what sort of power 440cc injectors will cope with?
  18. yeh they do a 225 in a e/t street as well but profile is starting to get to big so will stick with the 205's. got to try make some money this week so i can try and afford a set of cams and start building a motor should not be long till mid 11's are happening.
  19. went for a trip to willowbank last night and managed 12.07 at 112mph, was fairly busy and only got a couple of runs so that didnt give me much of a chance to try different tire pressures or play with boost. mph is fairly slow as was only running around 16-17psi not 20psi because was having trouble with boost spike so was probably only making around 250rwhp. I'm going to have a bit of a play with boost to gain a couple of mph and return on a day thats not to busy and pretty confident that can go closer to 11.7 at 115-6mph. i was running mickey thompson 205/50 e/t streets and although they arnt the biggest tire a small skid and 18psi tire pressure was enough to run 1.669 60ft and just lift the passenger side tire off the ground.

  21. no not going for a juiced up run yet wait to see what it runs how it is then after a week when I'm sick of it will go for the good stuff and back on dyno see how far we can push a standard ca till it go pop.
  22. no they are late model pulsar i think had to get the offset changed.
  23. Yes only a couple of weeks till i make a trip to the drags if its still going by the end it might be coming back to you for a retune with race fuel. I bought a pintara today so now i have spare gearbox, diff gears, axles and motor so no holding back i say.
  24. pics of new rims and tires still waiting on the front rims they are getting changed from a 6 inch to a 5 inch rim and getting the offset changed so they will fit under the guards with the sigma arms. rear tires are mickey thompson et street 205/50/15 which is what i will be running on the street and at the track. front tires will be 185/55/15.
  25. yeh it runs rich as the motor is still standard so hopefully that will hold off the blowing up from happening to soon. it hasnt got alot of timing either so has plenty of room for improvement, but the power its making should be enough for what i want to run for now.
