  1. You can replace the factory 4'' speakers in the footwells, its a bit of stuffing around but i actually managed to get some sony 6'' in there. For the boot Strathfield have 6x9 speaker boxes at the moment for $25 which is about half price and will save you a lot of trouble.
  2. Guys I'm having a dilemma. Have been searching for exactly what I'm after but havent found it so i'll ask. If its been covered then let me know and i'll have a read. I'm looking for a car to buy and basically its going to be an ae92-93. The idea is to stip it out, put buckets in, spend up big on suspention and brakes, and then get the most power out of the engine for the least amount of money possible, whilst still maintaining some driveablility and roadworthyness. The cars a daily driver but i want to be able to take it out on the track and fang the shit out of it. Oh, and i want to stick to NA power, mainly for reliability and because i like how they sound! I've got a budget of about 10k (absolute max) on road, registered, roadworthy. I'm a big fan of all the 4age engines and was planning everything around one of them, so the plan either involved buying something and doing a transplant $$$$$, or buying an SX, or Gti. Just today i had the idea that maybe a cheap-as CS (or such) could have all the same non-engine mods done to it, and then just freshen up the ol'4afc with some wild cams and cam gears, twin carbs, extractors, exhaust, lightened flywheel. Thats about all i got so far. Way i figure, it might not even end up as powerful as a 4age, but it would be freshly built and ready to go hard. Reliability is a big issue for me and i wouldnt want to go through all the shit of doing a transplant or doing up a car only to have engine troubles 3 months down the track ;) , hence i enjoy the idea of having a freshly rebuilt carby engine, even if its a bit less powerful than a 4age. Has anyone else bothered to work one of these engines out hard, and did it go or was it a waste? What sort of power can be had from a worked 4afc? Any opinions would be appreciated.
  3. Hi all, looking for a mechanic, specifically on the Gold Coast or nearby who knows exactly what to do with a 4age. I need a full rebuild with some performance mods, and i don't mind paying for it. Can someone please give me the heads up? I just don't need to be frigged around.
