  1. I have a 3K which I'm putting a K-50 in soon, but plan on putting a 4K in it. Now my 2 questions are, are 3K and 4K clutches the same? And do i only get my flywheel machined if its badly pitted and worn or just get it done anyway? :) Cheers, Trent
  2. Sounds like my problem, i'am pretty sure mine was working when i got the car, anyway I'm getting another KE55 cluster soon, hope that was the problem, Dolzz check the temperature guage clip thingy near the thermostat, they can sometimes come loose, mine was and it seemed to have cured it now, Let me know how you go, Trent
  3. On a similar note, anyone know if the early KE55 instrument clusters and interchangable with later model KE55 clusters? ie, wiring all the same?
  4. thanks for that lappy, Geoff helped me last night so i got most of it figured out, cheers anyway, Trent
  5. Yep infact i just put KE30 seats in my KE55 and there exactly the same
  6. G'day, I have a really bad whining diff in my 81 KE55, So i decided it was time i did something about it, Did a bit of research and found out there was 2 specific types, Jap (banjo) and BW, Went to the wreckers today and they quoted me $120 for a whole BW diff (drum to drum), now i went out to my KE55 then checked out the diff its got bolts onto the back of it 6 or 8 (guess) then checked out my KE30 diff and my brothers KE35 diff and they looked exactly the same  So my question is, Do the Jap and BW diffs have the same housing?, thanks for the help, Trent
  7. Also might i add KE55 Instrument clusters do have the same plugs as KE30 ones as i tried one about 10 minutes ago and they are identical except late KE55's have a blueish background and bolder text, Ps i just brought a brand spanking new KE30 instrument cluster off ebay for $30, the odometer reads "00000" and its got a tripmeter, it even came in the original Toyota parts box ,
  8. That first pic is my car and its a standard ke30 dash all ke30s after 76/77 had the silver background they are identical to KE55 dashes, Early KE30's had a standard black dash and doesn't cover the whole area, there is a seperate bit of plastic for the radio, Trust me i have a early Ke30 and a late ke30 and a ke55 Cheers Trent

  11. Lol i see, i'll get my bonnet off my old KE30 and throw it on, one thing i like about the KE55's is the door trims as well mine are blue with black carpet in the bottem of them i think it looks classy for its day :P
  12. Thanks for that lesley, Does anybody know the paint codes for the old toyota's?/Corolla's? Trent
  13. Yeah i'am using KE30 ones, i realised that they were sitting back a fair way, thanks for pointing that out to me, yeah i don't like the KE55 Bonnets how they have the big bulge at the front,

  18. Hey all, i have a KE55 which I'm getting for rego, i couldn't stand the ugly square headlights, grille and the hideous front bumper, so i got to work The mess i started with, broken square grille 1 driving light, fugly front bar Everthing off except for bumper. Rolla-boy aka Geoff, helped me with the next part, Yellow circles are the brackets that are needed to come off, red ones are where the adjusting screws go into (i went to supercheap and got some new clip thingys and new screws, the blue ones is what the spring goes onto. Finished result Early KE55 front bumper (anyone got a rear one?) Early KE30 Grille and KE30 Lights. And another! Hope you like it and if anyone has a early KE55 rear bumper PM me ASAP :P Cheers Trent (edit i know the front stone tray needs painting :y:)

  20. There's a emission diagram on the bonnet i might follow, cheers for the help love-ke70
  21. Yeah well i think the other 4K may be mildly worked, I have since put all the emission back on the KE55, looks like its wrong oh well looks like its doing something :P
  22. Cause i got another 4K with it all blocked up ball bearings and shit and it seems to runs alot better
  23. Yeah thanks about that emission info, Someone else told me about the fuel gauge not being a problem, might just leave it and carry a fuel drum in the back :harhar: Thanks
  24. Hey guys, i'am trying to get my KE55 roadworthy, couple of little things that need to be done, - First of all is the fuel gauge, it doesn't move at all, i have checked the gauge itself and tested my KE30 one in there and it still doesn't work, i then checked the sender unit and took off the plug going to it, cleaned it and still won't work, can anyone else think of anything else? Lastly i took off some of the emission shit, will they knock that back for not being there? Thanks Trent
  25. Yeah he got this one off ebay, all the oil, battery, temp and fuel lights are the same just with Km/h It could be off a KE25? Cheers, Trent
