  1. Hey guys, i bought some work equip reps for my 82 and on inspection without the tire fitted it looks like they'll rub without spacers. Can someone recommend any hub centric spacers? I know i could get some on ebay but id rather ask here first before turning to something cheap from ebay. Also thinking about getting coilovers and am set on BC's. Thoughts?? For the meantime i was thinking of just getting some camber plates for the stock struts.. Has anyone done this and is it "worth it"?
  2. Hi all, i need a part number for a set of igniton leads and am after advice on which brand to use.
  3. So the pipe for ae82 and ae92 are the same?
  4. Hi all, is there any difference in the water outlet pipe for the back of the head that runs along the side of the block between the ae82/ae92/ae86 etc 16v 4age's?
  5. Never noticed that i wrote this up stating that it's a bigport.. Its a smallport lol. My profile name is relevant to my bigport i had in the past not this one I'm having all these issues with. I was just reading over everything and noticed you said confident its a bigport from an ae92.. My bad lol! It's a smallport from an ae92.
  6. Awesome thanks. I bought the car not running, a quarter of the way into the smallport conversion. Motor was in, engine loom had been done by a crackhead so i binned it and used my mate's ae92 loom. They didn't have a smallport ecu so my mate helped out with that also. I have plugged n routed the engine loom now, sent it to an autoelectrician to get the body harness connector wired up to the ecu and they plumbed it into the engine loom and did their own thing with ignition. Got it back it now wants to crank over but starter motor smokes and no bang, swapped starter with my 100% working starter motor, same thing. Swapped over starter motor wiring and battery terminal clamp for a neat one, still occurred. I dug deeper now i have established the distributor socket is much fatter than the connection on my igniter lead, now I'm tackling THAT and waiting to book the car back in with the electrician to find the bad wiring. Sorry for the bulk post but thanks heaps for helping out!
  7. Apologies for my lack of knowledge. I need only the cap is that correct? That's great news for me though, electrician can sort the loom out lol. Hopefully its just bad wires not able to take the load.
  8. Can barely see the number.. Looks like it reads " 19100 16260 " or "16250" Also " 229100 -7 x x x " Thanks for confirming it isn't ae86
  9. So tonight i dug deeper and found that my distributor is not the correct one. Mine has a cap with the sockets faced towards my radiator, the correct distributor has the sockets facing up towards the bonnet. Mine looks like this one here: The ones coming up on everyone else's in their ae92 on google images have one like THIS: I had one i thought was the same from my old AE82 that faced upwards, but the igniter's socket is in the centre of the cap unlike the BOSCH one pictured here and it was also too fat for my igniter lead to plug into. Could this be my issue? Cranking, wanting to work but the igniter isn't doing it's job?? After falling asleep at the computer i learned you can swap certain distributor caps over to work. Is this an option for me? Can someone please provide a part number for the correct AE92 distributor? Last of all, what distributor came with my car?? Starting to think this is an AE86 motor because the water pipe behind the head is different and doesn't have the earth tab for the loom either.. Cheers.
  10. It's cranking at a normal speed. Fairly sure its all stock! Theres no gaps around the bellhousing i can see. The one that's on the car now should be absolutely fine as it worked on my other car without any issues. I hope it's just a bit of wiring that needs updating and not anything extreme..
  11. I changed both wires, the thicker wire and the earth wire. I'll have a look at the crimping but i'm certain it was alright on my other car when it was being used.. if not just cut and re-do it? Could there be anything other than that to consider? Cheers!
  12. Wiring is coming from engine loom to ecu, the factory body harness is deleted now.
