  1. We will begin with a Photo shoot in an underground car-park located at the Burnside Shopping Village. The car-park can be accessed via Cator Street. Once we have completed the Photo shoot we will then head out on a drive throughout the Adelaide Hills eventually returning to the BP Service Station at Belair. A route map will be available at the meet. Meet & Photo shoot at Burnside Shopping Village car-park on Sunday 21st June at 8:30pm. Michael Westphalen and Gerard Wood will be taking photos from 8:30pm. Even if you’re not keen on joining us on the cruise, drop in, get a few snaps of your car and check out some other rides. Photos will be available by order with payment required on the night. A disk containing 5 High-Res images will be a measly $10.00 (images can be printed crystal clear at A3 size). Westy has a Diploma in Photography and Gerard is currently studying Media at MAPS. Check out some previous work by: Westy www.mikewestphoto.com Gerard www.neweramedia.com.au
  2. do you have a rough budget worked out for this car??? or a cost calcualtion so far? or is it build and buy as you go? just interested... chaars
  3. HA, HA A, i have to thank these forums cos as stupid as half the posts are, i at least get a good laugh out of reading them... bud before you swap engines and all that shit, get yours tuned sweet and running nicely, get your car handling and stopping correctly, then by the time you can drive well enough u would be off your P's and can mod your self till the cows come home! and if your already a good enough driver for a billion-horsepower car, get a track car and start yourself a career...
  4. hey bud, the car is looking mighty fine! i don't know whether bushes are worth looking into for khanacross but if you don't have them already, i found them to work wonders in my car! also arent 18rg's very heavy anyway, none the less my mate has one in his ra40 and f@*# it can get up and boogy :y: all the best
  5. assuming u have the correct thermostat and ur radiator isnt all rusty and/or corroded; just take your pipes off your radiator, take out the radiator, crank up the hose and squirt water through the openings. make sure u got most the shit out of your pipes too. chuk the radiator back in, connect your hoses up again. get mukowt by tectaloy, instructions are on package. then use correct coolant... this info however is just based on previous problems i have had personally. your problem may be completely different and not relevent to what ive just mentioned (although this is good practice to keep things clean)... hope ya get it sorted mate westy
  6. posted then re-thought my post, soz, ignore
  7. ive got an 83 ke70 wagon... the rear of the wagon seems to "float" left to right a little wen you hit bumps/undulation/turn... wen i bought her i replaced EVERY bush in the front, new shocks, tie-rods, and wheel bearings so front is beautiful and feels super tight and smooth. however due to the previous owner being a steady driver the drive-line isnt too flogged so i've left it and just replaced rear shocks... as I'm sure ur all aware, the ke-sev wags has only a leaf-pack and shocks holding the diff assembly inplace. my concern/thought was how 'solid' is the mounting system as far as lateral movement is concerned? it doesnt help that i have a 70 profile tyre which, yes, i know is a balloon, but this movement factor is all thats holding me back from wanting to mod her any further. cos its the first ke i've had i don't know how its "supposed to feel"... i could replace bushes and re-taper the leaf-pack etc. but will this stiffen up the movement? or does the ke-wagon require a swaybar and/or panhard to be fabricated into place??? ANY help/guidance would be appreciated. cheers westy
  8. cheers lads, i know it was a 'modern-no-brainer' :P question but i just wanted to get other people opinions. due to her condition you'll probably see her in 6 months with a 4age or sr between the towers. (and a spanka set of re-set leaves) thanks again.
  9. so ive got an 83' Ke70 wags, just the old 4k, 4spd, timing and general oil change. Front end: ALL bushes replaced with nolathane items, new tie-rod ends, new balljoints, new shock inserts. Rear end: nothing but shocks for now as the wags has leaf springs and this brings me to the point of this post. I'm undecided as to drop in an engine (4age, sr, ca...) as the rear suspension set up is limited in structual strength, there are no linkage arms, no sway bar and no panhard. the shocks and leafs are all that holds rear axel set up. what id like to kno is, how can i make this set-up stronger, can the chassis be "modified" to house a panhard and linkage set-up or will the existing set-up (leafs & shocks) be enough to hold the extra grunt from an upgraded engine? forgetting about legallity, leaf swapping and stiffness, I'm aware of all that, just want to kno if it would hold-up to approx. 80kw or would it need modifying and if so how... ANY info or guidance would be awsum!!!! cheers (pic height is photoshop-chop, real height is stock)
  10. if these (pics) work this is what she looks like...
  11. thanks all, info is great!!!! helped alot! if the car was IMMACULATE, engine neva been driven hard, been reved to no more than 6k-rpm only occasionally in about 2nd, peders shocks and srpings rear, stock on front i think, sports tyres all round etc etc.... would the $4500 mark be pretty cheap? cheers again :)
  12. my mate has an 1981 RA40-R celica GT-2000, it was one of our mates fathers car and he babied it for many years, he sold it to my mate for quite a decent price and it was in excellent condition both mechanically and visually. ne ways, it has an 18RG in it (2ltr DOHC, stock form roughly 150ish hp) which is not the original engine i believe? i was wondering if ne one call fill me in on the engine pros and cons? i know that it is fairly rare, and goes bloody hard.... that however is no technical knowledge. i want to know what you can do with these engines, if ne one knows, how much HP they r capable of and roughly how much and engine is worth???? i understand these are all very broad questions but any info or knowledge ne one has on the 18rg and the GT-2000 model celica will be much appreciated. cheers all westy
