How high will it reach now? if you take a hinge off the bonnet will the hinge drop down further than horizontal? Then that distance can be used with a wedge-shaped spacer to allow you to open it more.
If not, unless someone has got some bright ideas, I reckon you'll have to take the hinge box out of xcsesthe firewall and re-build the curved arm.
That will make it longer and more curved, which means the box willxecv wxneed to be deeper, and the ddwedxfirewall cut downwards to fit it baex ex cccck in.zzdddxx7zxvzxxe adszzesxzessrdxwwexxdxxxzax

I had a six piece exhuast gasket on a 202 once. ...... thanks to shitty cheap extractors.

Need to bring it up here to see if we can skull drag a few reddies out of Cairn Curran ;)

Yeah, kicking myself over all of the ke20and 25's I got for less than $100, stripped and crushed. Gave away a Ke26 four door wagon for nothing that would been an easy rebuild, just needed a tail light. Only ever seen a handful of them since......
Even my old HZ ute. In family since new. Straight and rust free and unmolested. With original purchase receipts and less than 60k on it back in the 90's couldn't afford the fuel - $100+ per week just to get to work. Didn't even crack $3000 for it.

Ran cut down Holden Kingswood V8 springs for a very short time. Way too stiff for the standard struts. Hard to steer with both front wheels off the ground.......
But the springs were the rightish diameter and I had them already

Had an import 5k with flat tops as standard, looked like it had never been apart

Factory twins should also be on the list but can be hard to find.

Low budget + easy + KE30 = 5K. Noticable increase in torque and it is a bolt in

Sounds like a similar car has been reported hooning/involved in criminal activity/etc in the area and it's the princesses bad luck to own something the same era/color/make.
Remember having the police knock on the door when I was a kid wanting to inspect the old mans Monaro as a similar car had been involved in a hit and run.

225/60r13 went under a KE35 after we lipped the guards. Could go bigger with the right offset rims as I remember that there was still clearance to the inner guards.

Dealing with alcohol interlock customers. Not even installing them yet and I am getting pissed off with them. Seriously, DO NOT ʞ©$ɟING DRINK DRIVE. Do not sook and whinge to me about why it is bullshit that I have to get an interlock fitted. IT IS YOUR FAULT, suck it up and move on. It could be my wife and 5 kids that you drive through while you are driving pissed.

Depends on driving type too. Stop/go driving makes it worse.

See a sign writer to replace the missing section of strip events.

Lifters pumping up. Never had that happen, and my 5k would see 7500 rpm plus most of the time.

Just my 2 cents worth, but why do people insist on going to solid lifters........
A lot of mixing and matching parts for little or no gain in performance, with the added maintenance issues.
And don't tell me that you need to do a solid conversion so you can run a cam or pull big revs. Been there done that with hydraulic lifters.

Go ok. Some issues with oil coolers, thermostats and water leaks. Shitty exhaust manifold design, manifold is part of the turbo housing.

Loved the Wade 169 grind I had in my 5K

As you only did the solid lifter conversion about 4-5 months ago, & used part of the original hydraulic lifters, can you describe what that conversion entailed ?
Now you mentioned that the tappet clearance is getting out of wack by itself, that is possibly indicating that there is something not right with the lifter mods.
Cheers Banjo
Or you are revving the absolute crap out of it.........

Sucked that I never got my hands on the brand new, never been fired 3K that the local school had in their workshop..... :(

groan.................

We have shipped parts to Australianise the Chevy SS a couple of times, so it does get done.....
-
I ran a cut off switch via the oil pressure sender switch, no oil pressure no pump. Needed to run an extra circuit to prime the fuel system though......
never ran a regulator, once the carbies filled you could hear the pump slow down. Ran a Facet style pump bolted to the boot floor.

If you are going to compete in any form of Motorsport, find a club and read the club rules regarding modifications before lifting a spanner. No good spending big bucks and time building a car that does not fit any of the classes offered or puts you against wildly modified vehicles.
For example, if I removed the door trims from my KE20, I would of had to compete in the specials class at the club I was involved in.
in VIC, if you tan in the PRC class, all you could run was a 3k.

Used "Facet" type fuel pumps on both my rollas with no issues.
Had one hard mounted under the parcel shelf, but got moved very quickly.
Soft mounted under boot floor in the end.
