yeh true. i was actually thinkin bout conversion now that ive got all this info from everyone. I was asking bout getting a silver top conversion done but quite a few people just told me to get a 4age small port instead. they said there will be less cost and headaches as well and not very much power difference between the two. what do you guys think.

hi everyone, I'm looking into getting an engine conversion done to my 1991 toyota corolla hatch, currently has a 4afe engine in it. anyways to cut long story short, I'm looking at getting a 4age silver top or maybe a black top if not too much price difference. which engine would you people think is better and what kind of price would i be looking at? also any recommended places in brisbane for this kind of half cut? haha just incase u all think I'm lazy :y: i havnt been :hmm: i called a few place in brissy today and was given a price of approx. $2400 for a silvertop halfcut. just want to know if this price is about right because ive read on this forum other people doing what I'm doing and getting silver top half cuts for about $1400. any help is appreciated. thanks :y:

haha yeh for sure, got all new shock, about to get the spring then it all goes in hopefully in a week or 2

thats the problem man, can't drive turbo or supercharged for anothr 2yrs. so jus tryin to find a little more power a different way. thanks for all da replys by the way

yep efi. what u guys think bout putting a custom air induction in. i was thinking bout geting big pipes and run it from the front bodykit and connect it stratight to the air box. it'dd be a cheap way to get a lil more power, all i gota do is buy the pipe. also how much extra power do u think id get.

thanks sam_Q, really helpful info there. just wondering where in brisbane you are sending your cams to, and roughly what price it is costing? i live in brisbane and am thinking bout getting mine done to. so everyone, i read some interesting facts on another corolla forum, i think it was a south african based forum. just want to know what you guy think about what they are doing to ther 4afe engines. these guys were running as good as a 20v silvertop and reckon they still had beta fuel economy. apparently you can gain bout 25+ kw from getting the following: port and polish cylinder head ported and gasflowed cams ground to 268 duration pod fitler free flow exhaust up the compression also this was some more info i found on a different forum as well, please take a look and tell me what uz think http://www.tolken.co.za/twincamforum/viewt...ht=dave+repsold

hey everyone thanks for your input, greatly appreciated :hmm: i've chosen my colour, its going to be pearl white with a light bluish reflection in the sun. It would also save me the trouble by not have to paint inside doors and engine bay since car is already white. Also chose i over black, coz i remember when my mate had his black r32, some wanka keyd it and u could see it from a mile away, lol i don't want that happenin to my car. also imperfection wont be as notcible as on a pearl white as opposed to a black paint job. the bad news is i gotta wait a couple of months for the paint job now, my uncle whose doing the painting in his garage said it was getting cooler and it would be beta to wait for the hott hott days to come back round to get a good paint job result. after all, spending all that money, wouldnt want it to turn out shit. anyway thanks again

thanks for all the input people. yeh i agree with all of you, black paint needs the most care, my dad has a black aurion, the swirls marks and crap really piss us off, always has to be cleaned and properly. so what colours do you all think would look good on my corolla. I'm just not too keen on white and red, simply because everywhere i look, thats the only 2 colours i see around here for my car. it could be great if you could help me out with the 2 questions below: 1. What colour would suit my corolla other than "red or white" 2. If i was to get it painted black, is there something i could possible spray on top of paint job to minimize swirl marks and light scratches. please keep in mind I'm not trying to make a show car or anything like that, everyting will stay the same as the top pic. just might get lowered a little and add some clear side indicators. the mags will also stay the same as in the pic. thanks

Hi everyone, well I'm here to get your suggestions on a new paint job for my car. i have a 1991 corolla hatch. at the moment it is white, with a little fading, so i thought why not get a new paint job. i really like black, because that is very unique colour for my car, to be honest i havent even seen one black corolla hatch like mine in brisbane. i did a quick "crappy" photoshop of what it would look in black, and would like to hear what you people think about it. if you don't like it, thats alright, maybe you have a different colour suggestion, if so just let me know. thanks link to black corolla pic below

thanks for all the replies so far, alot of you are saying about putting in a 4age engine instead. would this be better then trying to modify my 4afe. also what kind of prices would i be looking at for a 4age engine. also if i changed engine, would anything else need to be changed?? if any of you know this information and prices, could you please list them. thanks also how much power does a stock 4afe 16 valve engine have? can't seem to find this info.

Hi everybody, i am very new to this forum stuff, so please help me out along the way. I have a 1991 toyota corolla hatch AE94. The engine for my car is a 4A-FE. The problem is I'm starting to get a little bored smile.gif so i would like to know how to increase the power of my car, even if its just a little. Hopefully getting the extra power with out putting a new engine (e.g. 4A-GE) or a turbo set up in my car. I am very happy with my car, just want a little more power. I don't have very deep pocket either sad.gif still a student and work part time. All your input will be very appreciated. thank
