Another part of the, "wife has cracked the shits because we have too many cars" sale
Holden Commodore VH SL/E
4.2L 253ci V8 (blue motor)
4brl Carby, Extractors & Sports Exhaust
King Springs, Auto Trans.
CD player, Sports steering wheel
Electronic ignition Tow Bar.
Power steer Air con (not working)
Would make a good restorer as it is the top of the line in its day and they are getting hard to find these days. It has very little rust. The motor is good. (doesent use oil and has excelent oil pressure) but could do with a set of lifters as they are getting a bit noisy. The auto is good and so for the diff and brakes
If you are not into resto's it would make a great skid car!!
$500. Firm. don't come to me with some bullshit offer.

hi
I'm selling one of my projects, its a 1971 toyota ke20 corolla coupe.it was going to be made into a drag car. the rear end has been tubbed. the tubs were done very well.car has hardly any rust in it at all.body is very good dint wise as well. standard front struts. brake lines have have been cut. still has standard running gear in it. was left in so car could be moved around.has door windows and some window rubbers can't remember which ones.has grill. has a hole cut in bonnet for air cleaner.
its missing front and rear bumpers, lights, fuel tank, front and rear windows and 2 back side windows. and most off the external trim ,badges and door handles.
would be a perfect start to a drag car or burnout car
can deliver for an extra fee

Only little annoyance is an ongoing occasional (fairly often) petrol smell that finds it's way into the cabin when the car has been standing for some time e.g. overnight in the shed. Don't know if anyone else has that problem. Have checked the tank etc for leaks. Keen to recover from a busted knee to go back driving!
Mate, let me start by saying how incredible your ride is. Its a credit to you, and your two mates.
As for the petrol smell, (if you havent already found it) on my ke20 when it had the standard fuel tank, they have a breather from the top of the filler neck. It runs up the rear pillar to the roof and then back down to the boot near the rear of the left hand wheel well. In mine, the hose had perrished and that was where the smell was coming from. It might be different on the later ones thow.
Can i ask you what brake master cylinder you are using.
Thanks mate :laff:

Did you learn that from "that woman named Jackie" too!? :(
No, from my father actually, but he raced around the same time as Sir Jackie.
-
sorry i wont be there as there is a hilclimb on at boisdale that i am entered in but will try make it another time
No worries mate, next time. I have a couple of mates running at Boisdale this weekend. i was gunna go myself but can't be in two places at once.
Say hi to Brendan from Rosedale, and Greg and Paul Shaw for me. Cheers Paul.
-
lol sorry forgot about that
Mate, my best tip is get all your braking done before you get to the corner. There is no point in trying to brake and turn at the same time. Slow in , fast out. And in the corner, don't put your foot down till you know you don't have to take it off again.
Good luck mate and have fun. Paul.

hey mate where u located?
I'm in morwell for work but live in stratford on the weekend.
i have a 2tg i want to put together for my ke70 but have no idea on how to assemble it as it came in pieces
might have to go to a GCC event to have a look sometime this year
Hi slider, we have an khanacross at the track this Sunday if you are not doing anything. I am not racing but time keeping so will be there. If you are coming let me know and I will lend you a workshop manual so you can read up on them. Then any questions, just ask. I am up that way all the time so could drop in and give you a hand if you get stuck.
Let me know if you are coming on Sunday. Its free entry. Cheers Paul.

Um..... why do you have an oil breather plugged into your radiator overflow bottle. I understand having "waste fluid" going into one bottle (a mate had a race car like this) but it didn't let the radiator suck water back up if it needed to. If yours does its just going to get oily water! :(
Arrr mate, you crack me up. The radiator overflow bottle is actually my catch can. For cars under 2.0lt you need a 2 lt catch can and over 2.0lt need 3lts. Reasons why I used this. 1 very light weight, 2. a lot cheaper than one of those Fancy alloy ones, and it does the same job.
For a radiator overflow I just use a 600ml Coke bottle. Cheap and light.
Thanks for your comment. Cheers Paul.

I ran BP6ES in mine, with a 1.0mm gap, after it was dyno tuned. That was their recommendation based on the dyno info.
Thanks Adam, you are a wealth of knowledge as usual. Cheers Paul.

WOOOHOOO
The motor is finnaly running. I couldn't believe it. I wound it over with the spark plugs out untill the oil pressure came up, put the plugs in, hit the starter button and away it went. Instant! Carbies not set, dizzy only a guess, and after about 1 min it would even sort of idle. Big camms so idle is very rough but it still idles.
Just to pick the brains of the 2tg boys, I went to Repco and was told they do not make spark plugs for 2tg's. Acording to my manual, 2t run NGK BP5ES and 2tg run NGK BP5EZ. they only had the (ES). What is the difference and will it matter.
If anybody runs a different plug, let me know. Thanks Paul

Coming along nicely there Paul.
I liked it the way it was when I bought the cage off you but it should look great finished.
And i was very envious of the 2tg's :D Would love one in my 20 to replace the 5k.
Am just about to start my rebuild, you've just given me some motivation.
Hopefully finish it by about September and then join a club again.
Cheers,
Dale
Dale mate, long time no see. Its about time you got your ass into gear.
September we have the Winton sprint on the 5th, and a hill climb at our track on the 19th. So get your ass into gear boy. Keep in touch and let us know how its going.

12psi on a holley regulator? I've got exactly the same unit and it's got no problems keeping it down to 4psi for my dellortos.
Other than that, I dig this thing. Good work, keep the pics coming.
Hi Philbey, I have since found out that there are 2 Holley regs. 1 goes from 1-4 psi and the other from 4.5-10 psi The latter being used on 4brl carbies like Holleys etc. They run on 8 psi, where as Webers, SU's and the like run on about 4 psi. This one was off a 55 Cheve running a small block and holley, so there is my problem. Thanks for the input. Cheers Paul.

Hi mate, yes it runs and drives but it has been out of rego for about 2 years so has not been driven much for that time. No I don't have the plates but you can get a permit to drive it home. Depends where you live i could trailer it to your house for a fee. Cheers Paul
