  1. Yeah had a bit of a read around the forum and found thats the one most people go for and it works well. 2' with resonator and high flow muffler is the way ill be going in pretty sure.
  2. Looking good, makes me wanty to fix mine up. You can get touch up paint in a can from autobarn if you wanted to spray over the white, just a heads up. Also mate had a ke25 with a 2 and 1/4 inch exhaust (3k motor) which was quicker than another mates ke55 with 2 and 1/2 inch exhaust (4k)...if you go to big they loose back pressure and in turn power...you wanna hold onto those precious few Hp's you have lol
  3. hi, Does anyone know what a good exhaust size would be? I'm not sure weather to go 1 and 3/4 or 2 inch? Has anyone got sounds clips of either so i can sorta hear what they sounds like......what is everyone running? engines a 3k cheers simon
  4. Good to hear its going again, Now drive it up the coast for 12ish hours so i can have a look at it ;-)
  5. Ow and really nice corolla..i hope to own one of these one day
  6. Did you do all you valve clearances right? doesnt explain the weak spark but you might be loosing pressure. And hows your timing? did you move the dizzy around at all
  7. thanks mate, ill probs have an update with some new photo in about 2 and a half week :-)
  8. Cheers fellers comments much appreciated Plans for when the holidays hit. -make new door and rear trims -Give the boot a tidy, probs box most of it in -Cut in the new carpet -Possibly get windows tinted....Does anyone know the regulations on this???? -Finish installing the stereo system (not so i can be a tool driving up the main street but because I love listening to music) -put the rest back together and get it on the road
  9. Tidy 30, and i agree-drop the v6 idea, there loads of better options.... have a look around in the engine conversion forum sections. What you gonna use it for?
  10. I assume you mean what is the engine? or did i write "enging" somewhere. Its a standard 3k< no money for anything bigger as yet, theres a photo on page 4 of the bay
  11. Cheers, its called 'sting red' or 'hot red' in some places, its the red you see on the newer holdens getting around
  12. So ive spent more time then i should on this car...time to do some uni. So this is on hold yet again, this time for about 2 and half weeks. Here pis of it outside, the photos with the doors on are in the sun and the camera didn't really capture the colour very well. The photos without doors are pretty much what it looks like in person. Also gave the inner door belts a clean (can't buy them atm so have to use em, got my outer ones the other day along with some new bailey channels) ...the last guy who was painting it covered them in that horrible blue metallic paint. doors are set, thats about it really Sits a fraction higher, hoping it comes down more at the front with glass bonnet and bumper than at the back Cheers, Simon
  13. Nope not gonna have it ready...got over that idea about 2 hours ago lol....got a couple more pics ill post tomoro
  14. So i finally got som epaint on!! It was raining last weekend, to windy yesterday, and today it was perfect. Cause it was blowing a gale i put my dash in and wired up my stereo :-) I plan to paint the body of the car tomoro morning and blue slip it on tuesday...pushing it i know lol So heres a few pics of stuff This is what i ended up doing with my front badge, what do you think? I'm still not sure, wait and see what it looks like on the car. dash in, wheel, just to steer it in the shed, will have a ring around the screw holes and a horn in it when i put it in properly bit of clarion sound, the hole had been cut in there by the last owner (would have much rather had the old am radio and tape deck in there and stuck the sterio in the glove box...but we can't have it all i spose Dash, has a few cracks but i don't have to money to re-skin it just yet. The makeshift spray booth On the inside Paint paint paint And some more My lovely exhaust fan lol...it helped a little bit And for shits and giggles, the dash that came with the car haha...just a bit rough lol
  15. Its seems to have an abundance of corollas in general. Looks pretty tidy, what are you plans for it?
  16. rego runs out in 2 days, and the heads gaskets gone so i wont drive very far anyway
  17. also selling my ke55 fr anyone interested http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=45409&st=0&p=474469entry474469
  18. yeah i heard bout the flahs flooding up on the sunshine coast, i assume your getting some of that rain too?
  19. So the plan was to have it on a trailer heading to town for blue slip on tuesday. WELL That not gonna happen, shit weather ment i couldn't paint it and I only finished prep work this morning (sanded so much to past few days my finger tips bled haha oops). So I'm heading to uni for the week then gonna see how the weather is next on the weekend, hopefully ill get it on the road early next week weather permitting. Other than sanding i did 2 little things, put some plugs around my brake lines and stuck some fresh foam on my vents nothing major. with the plugs i got solid ones, used a hole punch to ans a stanly to mod them to fit, they were a little big hence cutting out the wedge. thats is all....hopefully next week ill have some paint to show
  20. 5k motor is about as big as its gonna get for you. I'm pretty sure your allowed a 15% increase in capacity (from memory, your the p plate check it out its all on the rta website) without having to get an engineer to sign it off. As long as no fabrication of engine/gearbox mounts etc are required.
  21. Okay so a small update, getting stuck into the sanding, missing some skin on my fingers lol. All the wiring is sorted out, got a volt meter and figured out the wire for stereo and some other bits, also hooked up my levers and duct for the heater with loads of inox to get them moving freely and without noise, gotta love that stuff. Its almost ready for paint, I'm gonna make up a booth, got heaps of scaffolding and ill get a role of black plastic and make a big tent type thing with a ply floor 9got loads of the stuff here, cheers dad :-)) The plan is to have it ready early next week, gotta book it in for a wheel alignment and get an exhaust bent up then its ready. Also my wire mesh on the demister vents was shot so I used fly screen, still blows through fine (not sure what others do but this came up good). Sprayed em black for a tidy up too. A few pics so far, has changed a little these are a few days old
  22. yeah heaps keen to see this up and running in it full glory. Love those wheels! sucker for a big dish
