  1. i may not post alot, but i am on here daily, for me it is the fact that i know i can search for what i want to find rather than start a new topic, then wait for replies that may never come. i'd love to go cruisin, but noone else in my area seems to want to. on that note, i'm gonna go check my local threads.
  2. so was wandering around my not-so-local wreckers yesterday. got the parts i needed, but there was so many cars there i just wanted to take home and nurse back to health, was quite sad to see how all these ke's have ended up. old mazdas, nissans, datsuns etc. there may have been some holden/ford crap somewhere in the background. does anyone else have the same love/hate relationship with wrecking yards? on another note, anyone in the west sydney/penrith/blue mountains area, head to northern road wreckers, theres a very tidy ke20 for sale, $950 i think was the price, had a 4K-c in it, but the motor wasn't all together as such. wish i had the money for it. :(
  3. true, i just have a big hole in the floor and a plate i made up with strategic holes drilled in it to sit either forward or back but thats because i had a bad 3 months of bad box's, went through about 12 before i got one that lasted more than a week (still going strong 12 months later) most of these were from the one wrecking yard tho, he was happy for me to swap when they didn't work. i forget not everyone has as big a hole in the floor as i.
  4. someone should put a column shift in a rolla? i wanna see it done :P
  5. i stand corrected. forums are great for learning new things. i have 1 1/4" blocks in my ke30 and don't have problems with them. btw. i have a busted up k50 if any one is interested? the previous owner wasn't kind to it and it didn't last long once i bought it. theres some useful parts, some broken parts and some missing parts. (sorry, missing parts are unavailable) free for anyone who wants to come pick it up.
  6. like i said, it's only a quick fix. but nothing special. i'm not sure about different shocks, usualy you need to do something with the spings. if you have money/time, theres plenty of options leaf springs have been around for a long time, so many things have been tried and tested. you can invert the eyes to get the desired effect but i'm not sure on prices and where to do it. buy a new leaf pack, add/remove leaves etc. like i said, many options, suss them all out and the choice is yours.

  8. if you wanna go cheap and nasty, you can do the dodgy thing put lowering blocks in the back and either cut the front springs down or stick some blocks of wood under the body at the height you want, then hit the springs with a blowtorch... i highly suggest you don't do that tho unless you planning on getting better stuff in the near future and just want a quick fix untill then. lowering blocks arent so horrible but some time they're not so great either. i saw some king srings on ebay for 150 i think it was a 1 1/2" drop? go to the top of your page click on the link that says FAQ/Wiki
  9. also look for a k50 gearbox, will bolt straight in. if you can find one. i spent a whole day driving around western sydney and making phone calls trying to find one. only one came up and they wanted $600 for it. i found one a few months after that on the south coast for $100. you'll tend to find them in liteaces, townaces, etc. good luck, looks like your going to have a fun little car when your done.
  10. very nice find. are you looking for better handling or just want it lower? myt also if you get yourself some new rims let me know about the ones on there, look like they'll suit my car just nicely more pics? wanna see more of this car.
  11. i have some spare wheels for my s13 and the tires on the back of my ke30 were bald so i put the 15's on, the profile of the tires were 65 so you'd be around the same with 17's with very low profiles if not bigger, but with fairly stiff suspension the tires are rubbing in the top of the wheel well, so i can only assume you'd have similar problems. i didnt even bother with the front end because i wouldn't be able to steer at all. so yes, you can fit the on, but you wont be enjoying the drive at all in my opinion. they'll just be too tall. it has also raised the ass end of the car, so it now sits 2" higher in the air, give a cool "nose down" point to the body but probably not so good for handling
  12. car need fast now please

  13. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190465513501&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_4529wt_1139 just browsing ebay. anyone know if these will be worth the money, with some decent pads? also found these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/JDM-15-4x100-4x114-3-Wheels-Rims-Stance-Honda-/380292639365?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item588b352a85#ht_2968wt_1139 they wont suit the look i'm going for but would look pretty nice on the right rolla. assuming the offset is right?
  14. ok, been a while since last post. first of all, i have cut all the rust out and my friend has painted the car for me. (matt black, hope to get some photos up) looks like stiff leafs are the way to go, sway bars etc. i have decided to build up the 5k. (any thoughts on a 4/71 for supercharging fun?) and my brakes are. well. f@$ked. so any ideas for quick/cheap upgrades? thanks
