prepping for when the welder finally shows up, deicided i would fork out the money and buy a decent one, so i got a TIG welder  welding the fuel filler flap up as i have taken the fuel tank out and bought a 20 litre fuel cell, so i'm welding in a flat floor, obviously the cell needs something to bolt onto so i cut up some rhs to length to go under the flat floor.. and i thought i may as well brace the chassis rails a bit while i'm at it :P started cutting the rust repair sections out for the boot corners

so i went into a professional shop to get a qoute for decals today, cause i was bored.. i showed the guy a pic of beau yates hypertune ae86 to give him a rough idea of the design i was after.. it took all my effort not to pull a face when he said AROUND $2500 !!! so i think the decals can wait till after i'm finished sorting the more important things out like handling and brakes.. and i might just see if i can make something up my self and use my mates vynil laser cutter.

thats insane, you don't really realise how much you've done to a car till you look back over pics like this, kudo's to you

yea it turned out to be an auto ratio standard ae71 diff, but i've got the t series sitting here, just need to press some bearings on and waiting for it to be welded at work.. this is just going to be a track car but one day i might see if i can get her engineered, eventually this will have a snail on the side of it along with heaps of body mods, side exhaust etc. yea i used to own one the same color as kproln but mine was a 16v with quads. drained the fuel out this arvo because its had a full tank for about.. well i don't know, but ive owned this thing for 8 months so go figure.

ive found one just waiting on a shipping quote, and thanks mate its good to finally do somethin with it. nope it didnt have black tail lights, the guy i bought it off said he didnt know what the diff is but it feels like an lsd.. i hopped in it for a test drive and did a skid on the spot and it busted out one wheel straight away, all the way to 3rd gear lol..

thats the one, not bagging on ssr's, they are worth their weight in gold, but rota are pumping out top quality product for below average price.

what a score mate good work !!! i just bought a set of grid classics and all i can say is for such a cheap price they are insane quality, i can't see any problem with them being unsafe. rota is stepping up in quality these days. they don't have to have ssr written on them to be a good quality rim.

anyone know of a flat front end for sale let me know please, i have quads waiting  need to get the new front end on so i can start re painting the car and than attack it with decals. also just a cool pic that my missus took lol

new shoes lookin good, bought tyres yesterday and they were on my door step this morning, pretty fats delivery considering sydney is 5 hours from here  also bought some longer lug nuts, and some new wheel studs cause the old ones are stretched to buggery.
-
thanks man, ive found them on ebay through the tempe tyres place for 85 each with free delivery, thats insane value, just didn't know if they were any good, i think i'll probably go with them to start with.. is 195 to narrow for an 8 inch rim? i don't want them to have ridiculous stretch but a little bit would be nice.
-
do they make the kumho's in 15 but? i think ku31 are 15 inch, thats what i was actually thinkin about getting, cheers for the advice dude
-
haha its full of the diff bolts.. got a nice knock on my door this arvo  now i need some new shoes for them, any suggestions for really grippy, not too expensive front tyres?

Getting the welder out today  going to try and do it as neat as possible, with metal plates cut to fit around the spider gears and heat treat it afterwards.

haha hey its good to be back.. stripped my new/old diff down today, give it a good scrub and painted it up, just waiting on new bearings, and i'm tossing up weather to fork out the money for a full spool or take it down to a mate who has a 300 amp mig :hmm: not 100% sure what ratio and everything the diff is but apparently it come out of an auto t18 with 120xxx k's. unwrapped all my quad light set up now all i need is some flat front panels. also forked out for a new set of rims, but that ones a surprise
