  1. Been a while since an update, but here's how the stickerbombing turned out. Pretty happy the way it turned out. I'll admit I have been super lazy with working on this car, but I've recenty found some modivation. I found another alternator lying around so I've attached it up and everything seems to run fine. However there is this strange internal sound I can't diagnose. If i crank a cold start up everything is normal for about 30 seconds and then a faint clonging sound begins to fade in. It is not from the bottom, if anything from the top. Very strange, still working on it. Yesterday I gave her fresh brakes all around, and the shocks seem to be fine so I wont need to be replacing them any time soon. I suppose tyres to suit my rims is next on the list, should be able to do that next week with a bit of luck. Then all that remains for the time being is the prep for painting!
  2. Oh well. Something new for me to try out!
  3. Altezzaclub - Not even keen for that! I've quite happy to smash some corners with a 4c hooked up to a 5 speed! SnailCale - No worries I'll keep that in mind. B.L.Z.BUB - Can you reccommend any brands, not keen to go for the cheap rip off shit. So I've been sleeping in the days and hardly got much done except for some basic shit. I've managed to lower it, next job is to get the motor running so I need to plumb up the cooling system. Working on the body simply does not apeal to me right now. I also found it has no alternator hooked up so if anyone knows of any cheap ones going let me know! So since most of my modivation likes to come out at night I thought it would be a good idea to bomb the shit out of some of the interior parts. They came up decent too but these photos don't do much justice. Really keen to get these back in the car and see what they look like.
  4. Hello boys and girls, So about a month ago (Late January!) I picked up two KE70s for a bargain 700 bucks! Unbelieveable! One auto, which I simply spent minimal change and cleaned up and use as a run around, the second: A 5 speed manual, blue, and might I add rare "XX" model which includes a boot and petrol flap release catch under the drivers seat, a taco dash, and velour interior! Wow how modern haha! I was stoaked. It had done under 180,000 and has been sitting since 2007. I later found out it CAN be registered! Woo! However, no where near roadworthy. So I've sunk my teeth into it and plan to focus purely on cosmetics and not bother with molestoring the running gear! I've already fixed up some central locking to make life less complicated. Naturally she came with all the rust and some. So I plan to fix that shit up and then respray her. In the meantime, I've decided to go over the interior with a few basic mods such as a deep dish steering wheel, dildo shifter, and a Pionner deck with Soundstream 6X9s because subs are douchebaggy. I do plan to tint this car as summer is a piece of shit on a hot day and she doesn't have air con, so any imput on tinting would be sexellent. I may even go to the extent of venetins. For that extra bit of shade. As for the exterior, I've already scored some CSA's which havent seen the road in many years, so I'm keen as ʞ©$ɟ to get those sorted with tyres. Again, imput is welcome. I would like to go dish, but this is a budget build. I haven't experimented with bolt on flares or guard rolling so I figured now is a good oppertunity try something out, input welcome. I'll probably get a madhouse lip, and a duck tail to suit it. I would preffer them painted fresh with the body instead of the cheap rubbishy plastic colour. So basically a few little mods to keep her tidy enough to avoid the wrong type of attention. I'm getting to the age where I track how much money I blow on cars so I'm setting a total budget of 2k. Safe to say I've blown through 500 at the least. But I'm off to a good start! So to conclude, I'm basically trying to build up a clean, fun little street car and get back into the 'scene' and make some new friends I can go out driving with. Stay tuned, more to come in the progressing weeks!
  5. So as uni grows closer, I'm yet stuck in the same position I always seem to be in every year. I have a whole load of unfinished projects and a whole bunch of car parts lying around the backyard. I have a smashed up rolla, and coming into its 3rd year, my cressida project. Unfortunatly I havent had the drive to continue on with the cressida as it has been a massive hole in my wallet and a complete drain on my tollerance of ever being roadworthy again. Basicly, I have a 7MGTE with a spun bearing laying around which I have grown tired of looking at. Complete with a poor excuse for a wiring loom, all ingiters, GTE ecu, CT26 Turbro, a flywheel (I spent a while tracking down I might add) with fresh new factory flywheel bolts I orders from Toyota, and a 3" exhaust manifold which had a nice note to it. Its time for it to depart my backyeard to some useful hands. Question is, how much do I ask for it? I have found they are a rare motor to find by themselves these days as most normal people go along with a 1j conversion. Help me out guys! I need some sort of indication of the amount of $$$s I should be getting for this.
  6. Well, this car has certainly turned out to be a bundle of fun! After I bought it I slapped on the rims, and converted it to manual. Defs has turned out to be the funnest KE70 I have owned! I have been experimenting with lowering a couple times now, and the third time I attempt it I'm going to make it the perfect height. I don't really have any plans for it at the current time. If the chance of chrome bumpers and a jdm front end comes up, I'm defs going to take it, but for now I'm happy with it. The rear left wheel arch needs some attention, but that is no biggie! :) This car is pretty much my biggest toy. I'm not going to do anything serious to it until I have finished my cressida project and smashed out a few semesters of uni. For now its just a good little car I can boot in the hills. I'm always keen for a drive, so if anyones up for it, let me know!
  7. Defs wont forget! Thanks heaps for them mate!! Champion! :)
  8. Ok wow, so its been a very long time since I've been on these fourms!!! But I've bought ANOTHER rolla! Aha :) Guess its just love! So here she is, another ke70, however the cleanest I have owned. Has done only 160,000 and there is only a little bit of rust :) Traded it for a Ford Laser hatchback I got off a friend ;). My knowledge of cars has dramatically increased since last year, and I now intend to do this up with a little style. Plans for the moment is to have just a nice little daily. I bought some sampson rims for it today, 13X6 for some style and grip. I'm keen to lower it, and get some chrome bumpers and quad lights. Unfortunatly at the moment it is auto, so I'm also keen to whack a manual in it. For now, thats all I want to do. Next year I might track it, as I am keen to take up drifting as a hobby, but we will see how that goes if I decide to attend uni. I also have a modified MX83 cressida now which I am currently working on. Has a 7mgte so it goes turbofast! :) Other mods include, ba slotted rotors with r33 calipers, kingss, leather interior, full sounds system, with manual trans and lsd waiting to go in. Have spend about 10k on it so far, and more to go yet. don't ask how I have done it. Aha

  11. Few snaps of the other night. :( Cruise went fairly smooth, was happy with 12 cars, as you don't really need many cars when driving in the hills. :)

  22. LOL @ half of these replies, they made me laugh. Toy-Yoda I do use common sense when I leave my car, I make sure nothing valuable is visible, but its jut the thought of someone breaking into it and stealing it which worries me slightly. Cheers for the advice. I might just try a kill switch and see how that goes. But as most of you have said, if someone wants to break into your car, its the simple matter of smashing the window.
  23. Hey all, Just something that came across my mind, considering KE70's are piss easy to break into, I'm thinking i would like some sort of security for mine, as I am afraid of it getting stolen or broken into. I was considering creating a cut off switch and hiding it somewhere under the dash so It would not be visible. But yeah... Was also considering shaving the door handles, to do something different. Ideas/suggestions/experiences?
