demuire Posted March 10, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 10, 2006 mlaser: Umm, shouldn't be hard to put a mechanical handbrake in, you just need to get the right cable setup, and then bolt in an actual handbrake lever. If you are not mounting the cable one in the stock position, possibly look at the handbrake lever from like a Datsun 120Y or similar, as it has the cable coming out the back of it, instead of the bottom like a standard Corolla one. Just means you can put it anywhere without worrying about routing the cables properly... As for diff, no idea. Maybe it's stronger. Or maybe it's got a different ratio. Don't know.
