demuire Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Oh well, whoever Omo is, he/she has a birthday today, so Happy Birthday... Quote
demuire Posted July 29, 2004 Author Report Posted July 29, 2004 Oh yeah that's right, I'm supposed to buy some washing powder too (and milk). My huge box of washing powder finally ran out after 3.5 years of good service ;) Hell there's hardly even much left of the box, it fell apart ages ago! Hmm, what else? Should buy some chicken. I like chicken. Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 i used my last washing powder this morning to wash my bedsheets and hang them out before i came to work. i think i have another box in the cupboard. i don't trust chicken unless it's from the city, i spose thats not a problem for you ;) i need to buy cereal, and i'll get some fresh vegetables and scotch steak for tomorrow. i might also get some pasta for early next week, i love spaghetti bolognaise. actually i have some tomato paste and canned tomatoes and an onion and garlic and mince in the freezer, SET! wench is coming over with chinese tonight and we're playing with chopsticks stay tuned for more in The Exciting Shopping Life Of Fook and Jamie... Quote
demuire Posted July 29, 2004 Author Report Posted July 29, 2004 Well I cooked chicken korma on Tuesday (or was it Monday?), still have the last of it which I think I really should eat tonight, else it'll probably end up in the bin. I love simmer sauce, it's the ultimate lifesaver for people who can't cook like me. Chicken from the city? Really? I would have thought it would be better to buy chicken in the outback, you'd' think they'd be more "natural" and stuff - a bit like buying free range eggs or something? The ones in the city are probably all pumped up with hormones and stuff... What kinda cereal do you eat? I usually have coco pops, although I'm rather tempted to try that new nutrigrain berry? Looks interesting anyway. Quote
99 Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 Oh dear. I hate coco pops, in a major muesli phase at the moment. Sultana bran, weetbix with sultanas, anything with sultanas. mmmm sultanas. I like sultanas. chicken is good tho but not for breakfast! mental note, I need washing powder too, used the last of mine this morning washing my 5 pairs of jeans! Seriously, i used the last of my washing powder this morning!! Quote
demuire Posted July 30, 2004 Author Report Posted July 30, 2004 Haha, looks like we've all run out of washing powder at the same time, what are the chances! I've been scratching around the bottom of my washing powder "box" for the past few weeks now, trying to get at the last of it... Muesli... I used to really like muesli. I guess I still do, but it gets stuck in my teeth and that annoys me. I like sultanas though, sultanas rock. That purple-box stuff (forget what it's called now) has lots of sultanas... I must admit though, coco pops really don't do much. Apart from making my milk all chocolaty (mmm) it isn't filling, or anything. I have coco pops in the morning, and by the time I get to work I'm hungry again... Quote
99 Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 The purple box stuff with lots of sultanas is... sultana bran!! I bet you not liking the muesli has something to do with your fear of teeth breaking?? Re: washing powder, I haven't been scratching around yet, maybe I'm not quite finished ....?! Quote
demuire Posted July 30, 2004 Author Report Posted July 30, 2004 Heh... my teeth have never ever been fantastic (I used to have some jaw problems, and I also have less teeth than most other people), and heh - no with muesli I actually don't like the way they get stuck in my teeth ;) Similar to say... Snakes. Snakes tend to get stuck in my teeth too, and it annoys me. Re: teeth breaking, I'm more afraid of things like... Minties. Although I still have to keep catching myself chewing on bits of ice... Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 the amount of people i know who've gotten sick after eating kfc in either lismore or ballina, i'd never eat there again. i spose that's different to chicken like you buy in coles or whatever isn't it. i should probably eat more chicken, i'm a bit of a steak and tuna fiend at the moment (not together of course) i like cereals that are tasty and healthy, ones that give you a happy start to the day and you look forward to eating them. sustain and just right are regulars at the moment. i can't stand weet bix, much like vegimite, it's one of those "aussie" things i'll never understand i also f@$king LOVE that new milo cereal, but it doesn't last long cos i eat quarter of the box in the car on the way home, then snack constantly on it for the next two days. when it came out, the cardboard the boxes were made out of can only be described as beautiful, i've kept two and look at them semi-regularly. they have since reverted to normal cardboard like other cereals my teeth are actually pretty good. none of them are wonky or whatever. if i hold my lips open wide (nothin sus) it looks like one of those plastc skeletons, i guess i'm lucky. i have however had all 4 wisdom teeth removed due to impacting, and i've had a root canal and a couple of fillings (and i need one more, i'll do it before christmas) polytopic and a half here ay, happy birthday omo! Quote
demuire Posted July 30, 2004 Author Report Posted July 30, 2004 Well, KFC, you really can't compare that with normal chicken can you? I'm strange. When I was a kid in Malaysia, going to KFC and Maccas and Pizza Hut and the like was a really special occasion, we even used to dress up for it. It was the sort of place you'd go to for Christmas, or for a birthday or something. I used to LOVE KFC, especially if and when we got the barrel, cause then we'd have this huge paper barrel with red and white stripes which was just rad. Anyway, moving on to maybe 15 or 18 years down the track... I still get like major cravings for KFC. I hardly eat the stuff. But like, I'd be sitting around at home or whatever and I'll go "hmm, I REALLY want KFC..." and I'd go get it, take the first bite, and realise why I don't eat it very much, and then feel sick for the next few hours... I don't really know what's with it. I think it's the oil. It's so oily that it makes you feel sick. Maybe... In any case, I don't really know what my point was, so there ;) Quote
demuire Posted July 30, 2004 Author Report Posted July 30, 2004 Well hey, this IS the "off topic" section ;) Quote
demuire Posted July 30, 2004 Author Report Posted July 30, 2004 Has anyone bought the "barrel" from KFC lately? They don't give you the barrel anymore! The last time we bought a barrel they put it into a box, I thought that was such a major rip off! Why would anyone buy a barrel for any other reason than to get the barrel??? Quote
irokin Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 I want them to fill one of those barrels with popcorn chicken. Id pay $50+ for one of those!!! Quote
