so with the mazda diff does it still require shortening? also what cars do the mazda e series diff come out of and what sort of hp can they handle?

Mazda L200 ute maybe ? I know the L200 diffs are used in Sigma's/Lancers but i don't know if its a E series ?

Did you end up finding the name of the place in NZ that sells the ratios / LSD for the T series? Would be interested to contact them with regards to prices for these.

Do you know the axle dia difference between the t series and the mazda (model ???) version.?

Yea ill be running a t series, with a mechanical centre i think it will be fine, the only weak point will be the k-50
