Engine Blow Up Comp

was watching a video of the 2002 (?) new zealand nats yesterday, they had an engine blow up contest between a 12A rotary and a toyota 4k, basically they run them with no radiator/oil etc on full throttle and see how long they last

 

the results

 

mazda rotary : 10 seconds

 

toyota 4k : 5mins 51 seconds

jamie - no it was on vhs, its one of those 'serious performance' videos

 

teddy - its not that exciting, you just see a scabby old 4k going 'BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ' for 5 mins hehe

 

I'm sure you can still buy the video but really its not worth paying $30 to watch an hour of checkerplate to see 1 minute of 4k :dance:

because they're a dime a dozen, and the only reason it will stop is the pistons expand in the bores so much and seize. go out there the next day after everything's cooled down and it will more than likely start again. no shit, we've done this with paddock bashers before

Hehe that just gave me an idea for the cruise in the Cruises section.. Take a photo with everyone next to their toyota's and jumping like on the commercial.

 

Back on topic.. thats f@$king awesome.. another thing to rub up the next rotary head's nose I see.
