corolla-ute Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 does anyone know where to get a fuel tank repaired in the brisbane area.......has got a few holesw in it.. tried to repair myself but was not satisfactory, any info would be very helpful.. thanks Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 what were you trying to fix it with?? There is products available for this, permaseal so one (IIRC) called "kneed it". Its an epoxy putting that you mix together and then push over holes in fuel tanks and radiators. Give that a crack. :D Otherwise have you considered getting a fuel cell?? being for a ute it would be very easy to fit. You can get them on ebay for around $100, I paid $50 for mine off a mate. Quote
love ke70 Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 considered just replacing the tank? i know its not what you asked but its the way i would go about it. Quote

Taz_Rx Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Yeah you need to make really sure you have a clean surface to put it on, try and push it right into the hole if you can too. :D Quote

love ke70 Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 ahh, i just had a look at your threads and it is actually a publica, not a corolla. i thought it was a chopped up rolla at first. kudos for the publica :D i wanna wack my 1g in one... one day :) anywho, have you checked if the tank matches up with anything else? unlikely i know, but its worth a try. maybe get in contact with mr revhead as he is in NZ, so if he can dig anything up. or find someone in an asian country where they are a dime a dozen and find one. failing that, get a poly tank made, or get a fulli hektik habibi droptank or just get a shop to knock something up that will fit. see you on the next cruise? i wanna have a good look at one of these things :( Quote

corolla-ute Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Go to an aluminun fabrication shop as they can make you a tank that will out last the car, be prepared to pay abit. Make sure they put baffles in it. thanks ,but i think repair would be a lot cheaper than a new aluminium tank thanks anyway cheers Quote

irokin Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Fuel Tank Repair service on the northside. Be patient however! I needed my rusty tank cleaned ASAP (~3 days turn around) and it came back still rusty and absolutely useless to me. Despite that Id still recommend them. http://www.ftrs.com.au/ Quote
