rolla83 Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Hi everyone. I have a fully rebuilt and mildly worked 4K engine. It has flat top pistons 20thou oversize Custom made billet cam Extensively ported head Pacemaker extractors and all the inside stuff done to it I bought the engine like this and am continuing the project Since owning it ive put a: new fuel pump on dizzy, new points, cap, rotor and polished the dizzy alternator Rockers and other odds and ends. The engine is going in my 81 KE55. I'm after a couple new parts, none available genuine so if you know of where some are available (NEW only) then let me know - include a web address or phone number. Intake/Exhaust manifold studs and nuts Head Bolts Lifters Push Rods anything you can recommend :P Cheers, rolla. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 manifold bolts, just buy them from your local "nuts and bolt" or equivalent. I did this and went to all allen key bolts, can actually get them tighter and they look better. Head bolts can be got from ARP, see this thread for details.... http://www.club-k.co.nz/Forums/viewthread.php?tid=9888 Lifter and push rods, might as well just buy them new from toyota, although don't expect it to be cheap. Eg, toyota 4k head gasket <$70, permaseal ones I use >$25!! One other thing I might suggest, depending on what this car will be used for, is an oil filter sandwich plate. I bought mine from Bursons for $80, but they do look after me. heres a pic of mine.... Quote
ancullen Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I should have all those parts if you want them. In fact I've got two spare 4K's sitting around, and one bottom end. Quote
rolla83 Posted June 17, 2007 Author Report Posted June 17, 2007 hey everyone, the engine is in! Runs sweet, all new points, plugs, leads, condensor, all the stuff! Idles at 900RPM, snaps to 5000rpm, getting the exhaust made for it this week $500 or so later! Quote
Raven Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Running a downdraught weber of some sort? I have a Lynx Twin SU Manifold, brand new if you're interested. Click on the writing in my signature and it will take you to the page with all the details. Cheers Raven Quote
rolla83 Posted June 18, 2007 Author Report Posted June 18, 2007 I'm going to run a redline manifold and Delorto double barrel carby. Just getting the linkages for 4K made for it now. I'm using the standard manifold and carby at the moment, the carby actully cannot give enough fuel! The head has been ported so much that the pacemaker extractors actually act as restriction because their not wide enough lol! Quote
