at the mt cotton drift day / burnouts or what ever it is...

 

does the car have to be legal.. like I'm getting a old skool rolla with a 186 in it... but its had the firewall modified etc to fit it and yea...

the cars all safe etc just wondering cause i still enter it or not...

skid pan?? hillclimb??

skidpan...no hillclimb don't know but I wouldnt suggest it with a 186 in the front.

With hillclimbs, your car does not have to be registered - you will just be in a different class to the registered cars that's all. The hillclimbs at Mt Cotton are run by the MG Car Club of Queensland and they have one coming up on Sunday (entries are closed unfortunately).

The supplementary regulations are pretty much the rules about what can and can't enter into an event (amongst other things). Attached to this message are the supplementary regulations for the event on Sunday. The event is part of a series of things happening, so only read the parts about the hillclimb.

Grimwolge: why does the Skidpan require a registered car? is this due to insurance? reason i ask is because car Registration is only around to Permit your vehicle to travel on State Roads (by state i mean government owned).

the skidpan is infact on private property and it should not be a legal requirement....

 

kinda sucks for all those people who would like to build a drag/track/drift car, but don't want it registered.. :)

Yes, insurance purposes.

Even at the hillclimbs they're pretty strict on what unregistered cars they let compete.

if i was to rock up with a safety certificate, would that suffice?

including day registrations?? lol.. that sucks for all those project cars out there that people just want to have fun with on the track etc... no way i can afford to register a 3rd vehicle...

they havent been that strict on it... everytime i went my rego sticker was waaay out of date.. they didnt say nuffin.. xcept "fasten that battery son".

why would you bother taking a "Track vehicle" to the skidpan?? Just get your kirby ass out to QLD raceway or something.

 

Day rego is EXPESNIVE!! CTP for 1 day is something like $60-80 plus the permit fee ($17.95). (I priced it to see if it was cheaper to drive a car I was buying home than towing it...it ended up being cheaper to tow)
