hi just wondering what experience people had with upgrading there radiators in ke20's. my car is powered by a CA18DET and i don't really know if the stock unit is going to be good enough. was intending to give the car a bit of a hard time when it gets on the road in a few months so i would like something that could keep up. does anybody know of easy alterrnatives ie, oem units from other manufactureres that may fit with minor modifications. i would like to avoid paying $800 to $1000 for a custom aluminium one. any info would be appreciated.

there are many options, a larger radiator is not too practical due to lack of space and custom mounts etc.

do yourself a favour and get a custom 3 core aluminuim one made to standard specs, toymods has a special deal for $500 or

recore the original with a 3 core for about $350.

Tristan mate , we must be at similar stages with our cars mate , i have just taken delivery of one of the custom alloy ones that a guy on toymods is doing , i think he is just doing celica and cressida ones at the moment but he has done mine for my KE25 so i'm sure he would want to do another at some stage

heres a link to his thread on toymods

allright after a bit of looking around i've concluded i am going to have to bite the bullet and purchase a custom radiator. what i was interested in was what size cores people where running. i was probably going to go all out and get a pwr core. was thinking of getting a 81mm dimpled core. would this be too big? or would i just need a 55mm. also does anyone know what fin pitch they are running. my plan was to do up a precise drawing of my curent 20 radiator and get the custom one made up the same just a hell of alot wider.

I'm running a modified torana radiator in my KE20. Basically just change the inlet/outlet to suit the rotary inlet/outlet. Didnt have any problems keeping a NA 13B extend port cool. Havent really test it with the turbo set-up but with some shrouding i have not doubts in its ability to keep it cool
