jus thought i would put up a quick update of a few things done to the corolla. have bolted in a new thermo fan for it and taken off old one, still to do all the proper wiring though. Car is now in full primer and waiting to go and get painted, even all the boot is primed along with bonnet lid, boot lid and inside of doors

here are some pics:

ok so today i also transferred the washer jets to the bonnet.

firstly i got some Subaru Forester jets and piping from somewhere else, hooked all the piping up

to mark out where i was going to put the jets was kind of hard knowing where the water was gonna hit the windscreen, so:

- i got out possibly the best tool for something like this, its string coverd in blue chalk, tighten it across bonnet, pull up and let go, there is ur line

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0787.jpg

- i marked out with it the centre of the bonnet, a line going across bonnet of the top and bottom of flutes so i could get the middle

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0786.jpg

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0785.jpg

- then i lined up the jet with the grill bit right infront of the windscreen and went 10 bars from the inside to the outside of the car and made a mark

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0788.jpg

- once i had done that, i made a template in acrylic of the shape and size of the hole needed to hold and secure the jets. (ripped hole in middle of newspaper

to paint through, it stopped overspray)

- i put this template over the mark i made where the jets r goin to go then painted it red, then outlined paint with felt tip pen for more distinctive shape

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/IMGP0790.jpg

- then i drilled a small hole in middle of red spot, then a bigger hole and eventually filed it out to the edge of felt tip pen (pics of finished product soon)

hope this helps some people (measurements i made were for Subaru Forester jets and a 1979 Ke55 Sedan, measurements may vary depending on model)

october 3 2008, holy s**t! it's been a while since last update. well comparing to the above pics u wouldnt recognise it. ALL dents and creases have been knocked out, and bogged (if needed), all panels are back on, primed and aligned. inside of doors and door jams are green, came up sweet as!! the spot priming was finished today, unfortunately cold weather so drying time was gonna b a while before sanding. and if all goes well, it should get it's first green coat next weekend. in the mean time, i bought a specometer tacho to replace the clock, i've been trying to work out stereo issues, what to do about wheel spacing and fixing a carby problem..... hopefully get some pics of it next weekend and post them up.

oh, and anyone know where i can get cheap new door seals?? need all 4, boot seal and the seal at rear of bonnet
