hey, i finally found a ae71 and happy with it BUT

the car isnt regod and hasnt been for a while apparenlty and its been sittin in back yards.

the guy b4 the guy that sold it to me ripped out the interior and shit makin it light but i need it roadworthied. BUT the main problem is

how hard is it to get it transferred when the guy hasnt got it in his name and the guy b4 him hasnt got in it in his name??

i got told its just a simple get a reciept of the guy sayin sold to me and maybe another reciept from the guy before him that gave it to the guy that sold it to me.

haha yeh I'm confused right now too.

so yeh anyone know what to do?

basically a back yard car that needs a fix up and regod. but needs to be roadworthied first of course. and dw I'm a apprentice mechanic and dad owns the business so fixing it up isnt the problem. just gettin the car in my name is lol

thanks

Brendan

ahh dude same shit happen to me all u need to do is go to qld transport and they make u sign a declaration saying that u own it then u can get it regod as long as u got the safety certificate and all. also sometimes qld transport check ur car if it has been deregistered so if u go to helensvale they can't check it cause they don't have an inspection bay like southport

good luck with ur car mate

yeh but another problem is that i wont be gettin it rego'd for a while because i need it to be road worthied and belive me theres a fair few things lol.

so do i just keep the receipt and the people at qld transport wont care that its been like a month ago that it had been brought? because i wont be fixing it up til after christmas.

I don't see what's so confusing.

You've bought an unregistered car, so all you need is a receipt from the SELLER, then just get it roadworthy and registered in your name. There's no transfers necessary.

Piece of cake really!
