hey yas, i currently have a 3k in my car,and have just been given a 4k. apart from the ovious 100cc upgrade i want to know if it would be worth the effort of swapping the engines. would it be worth it?

In a smaller car you wil notice a bigger difference, what do you drive?

 

Cam it up, and a nice carby too.

If the 4K is in reasonable condition I would definately swap it....I've always noticed a huge amount of difference between the 3K and the 4K. Considering how relatively easy it is to swap a K engine (depending on skill level) I'd say it's definately worth the upgrade

i drive a ke30. you wouldnt expect such an upgrade from such a small difference, but yor guys just gave me the encouragement to do it.

When you do the maths, it's actually quite a substantial increase in capacity. Plus then you can tell everyone you have the bigblock corolla engine 8/

Did this to a girlfriends KE20 and thought it was a backwards move............. until the big cam, worked head etc went on. Then it was 8/

the big block is a good reason to do the engine swap except people will still laugh at me. lol.

It was guttless, wouldn't rev properly. The cam really woke it up though......

do it. chuck the 4k in, put you're 3k head on it. all in a days work.

nar you can put your 3kh head on it it wont be to much compression it will bumb up the compression though but wont be to much
